Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

Perfect mate cheers. Sounds exactly were I went wrong.

might be worth mentioning too that props labelled 'b' or 'r' spin clockwise, so would go on motors 2&4 in that diagram!

It confused me at first. You would think reverse would be counter-clockwise but that's the wrong understanding!

I've always found the hobbyking ones to both cheap and reasonable quality. Cheap is good as you will probably break more than one as you learn to fly the quad.

Got most parts ready to build a foamboard flying wing, just need to settle on a design - any recommendations for a slow flying / trainer wing?

That does look nice.

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!

I'm ordering one. Getting frustrated not being able to throw my P2 around like I used to now it's set up with gimbal! :D

EDIT: Asked FirstPersonView.co.uk if they'll be stocking these... seems likely!

That looks pretty awesome as a ready to fly! :) Interesting idea having the motors tipped forwards.
I wonder whether that really requires any effort to tweak the FC on a custom build. I guess mainly it would just confuse the self levelling if used?

Not sure as from my experience the self levelling (on a KK anyway) doesn't stop the quad, it will still "skate" on it's momentum rather than stop in place. The self-leveling seems to do just that - bring the quad frame back to a level roll/pitch position.

What I expect with the motors tipped is that it will take more pull back on pitch to stop it moving forward, and accelerate faster without tipping the quad forward so much.

Yeh I guess with the self levelling it'll just accelerate forward in the default level position. Ofcourse I guess you could calibrate it on a slant (with the motors sitting straight) to counter this!

Took my p2v+ for its first flight today.

Still not sure about taking it over a hundred feet up and watching it :D

Give it time to get used to it and you will. Took my Vision up to 400ft and was cacking it :)

And the waypoints will freak you out as well, watching it take off and fly about on its own and hoping that it will come back to you ;)
