Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

See if you can try some goggles before buying them. I bought some FatShark Attitudes and quite frankly, I thought they were ****. Tiny little picture and not immersive at all, and the Attitudes have some of the largest FoV of any of the goggles.

I just don't get it to be honest, but others love them. Hence, try them first if you can.

I tried some FS goggles, didn't get it either. I am using the Quanum DIY FPV "goggles" though, and tbh, they suit me better, £200 cheaper or not

Sill need battery (masive choice - need some help here!) / charger / props - any pointers there?

Need to get ordered fairly soon as it's mostly from international warehouse as a lot of it's out of stock at uk warehouse.

Will get soldering iron/heatshrink/cable ties etc

DJI F550 E300 version

Just had all the parts out to have a look. The ESC cables are longer than anything. On all builds I've seen they have been the right length but not seen anything for the E300

Anyone got some input?

Cut them to the required length.....

Not done anything in a while with the weather being rubbish. But ordered some bits from RCExplorer.se the other day, namely the tricoptor tilt mechanism and motor mounts for going on booms. Fancy finally trying a Tri! (after owning a servo a few months)
Will likely try it with a wooden frame initially and see how I find it, if it turns out to be great fun to fly I'll then have to decide between pimping a tri or going back to a quad (which I still enjoy flying about loads)

That's what I did - I went around and attached the ESCs to the arms where I wanted them (cable tied in place) and then lined them all up and cut them to the same length - ensuring there was a little extra give as you need to cut them back a little when soldering and voila!

Haven't had any problems at all :)

Well I have that exact same kit and it works fine having cut them down ... There's a good channel called AirborneFilming on YouTube that has 2 or 3 videos which are about putting together an F550 kit - Worth a look!

Not so easy as the E300 series are coaxial insulated.

Just saw they are only rated 15A and suitable for 3S or 4S, I'd bin them and get something beefier. Specially on a Hex where you can end up going to 5S or 6S to increase flight times.

Have you read about the E300 system? I bought this kit @ £350, not gonna bin them

My flux has arrived as well so I might be brave and solder the board.

Good new the replacement plate for my Aeroxcraft landing gear has arrived and now it's built. Just tested my gimbal and think it's faulty as not level at all and moves randomly.
