I won't be flying the Inspire for a while. I fired it up in my living room and damn! there is a lot to learn. The app is incredibly deep. I can't believe how much control you have over the camera and other flight parameters.
First impressions:
It's incredibly well built. We're talking Apple levels of quality. The transmitter is heavy and solid. There are lovely details like the worm drive for the arms being made of metal and well sleeved cables.
There is no lag at all that I could perceive on the video stream.
The camera gimbal is incredible. I was throwing the craft around in my hands and the image just stays level. Far better than either of my other gimbals.
The Pilot app is very, very polished. Well laid out, clear menus, and loads of information.
All it all, I'm very impressed and I haven't even got it up in the air yet. From what I've seen, there is nothing else like it on the market. You can't even build it from parts. Even a craft with LightBridge wouldn't have the level of camera control, on-the-fly that this does.
If the image quality is a good as a GoPro Hero4 Black (and by all accounts it is close) then I'll be very happy. Even if it isn't quite there, the fact that I can control the camera's setting in the air means I'm more likely to get the shot I want without having to land, change settings, and take off again.
