Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

I don't have manual mode configured on my f450 on any of the switches

Lol, does manual mode on the naza v2 give your more throttle? Or is what your seeing in the other modes the max? Is there a way to unlock more power on the e300 propul system or the naza v2

Don't want to crash this bad boy. I'll leave the fun acro flying for my 250

Flies pretty well so far, I just need to get some more experience, I'm still getting confident at hovering in front of myself with self level off.

It's essentially the recommended 4S setup but with SlowFly 1045 props that I have a bagfull of.

It has way more power than it needs, but there's no FPV gear on yet.

This is what I use on my rockets

I call it, rings 3 times, hangs up and txt's me. Open the link Google Maps and I walk toward X done. Just make sure you fit it on well, ideally some place it won't fall off should it crash and where it will not mess with the radio and gps.

Looks good, I see it comes with a sim does the credit expire over a period of time? Also what's the signal like on it?

BigglesPiP - very jealous of your workspace there.

Man this weather, longer days and it's blowing a mini hurricane or raining... I want to try my 4s batteries with my 250!!

Im probably going to buy This kit tomorrow (payday!) and add the £19:99 part build option, just cause Im not sure about my soldering skills just yet:D
Not as rich as some of you so will probably have to wait till next payday for a few more bits.
The other parts Im looking at apart from spare props etc are:
FrSky TARANIS Plus 2.4GHz Transmitter
FrSky X8R Receiver
Lipo Battery Warning Alarm Buzzer 1-8s
That lot seem ok for starters?

As for a charger and batteries, I havent got a clue, so will post my budget and ask for help:D

The only worrying bit is making sure it all works together! How hard is it to add the rx and battery alarm, bind the tx and setup the gps etc?
Any advice appreciated.

S500 frame kit £33

4 x 20A Hobbyking ESC
Set of Turnigy Multistar 2212 - 920kv motors
KK2.1 HC flight controller with programmer board
DJI Carbon props self tighten white tip

£40

£73 total

I do have a replacement one of these gimbals on the way which could be fitted. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251588276518

Have a refund with T9Hobbysport so just took that on a FrSky X6R.

Tomorrow I'll tin the PDB, thinking of soldering the ESC inline with the motors.

This so light it's unreal and a 4's will last ages I think.

Yep, but anything wrong with those two things I selected and any recommendations for a controller around £20-30?

If it's your first quad, and you are aiming for FPV I would consider a 250 build instead, faster, more fun and cheaper to repair after crashes. Go for a larger build if you want to carry a larger/heavier camera and gimbal for aerial photography.

KK is good to start out as it has a LCD for you to do adjustments on the field.

Naze32 is arguably a better FC with more features, not much harder to setup if you have a PC. Flies very well with default settings. It is my choice FC for smaller builds now, I've owned both.

What are you flying? If it's a 250 swap the X8R for a D4R-II it still has telemetry plus it's smaller, lighter and it has CPPM the only difference is it's 8 channels which is more than enough on a 250 but if your going for larger platform with gimbals then maybe stick with the 16ch X8R.

CPPM is a great feature that allows 3 wires going to the flight controller rather than a bunch of 3pin servo wires.

It's on the O2 network so pretty good. Yeah It runs out so I make a call to it once a month

Thanks, so as long as you call the sim it stays active? There's no required top up over a set period of time?

Naze32, I personally think the KK is a piece of crap compared.
