Flight from today.

I'm having to use props that have a little damage while waiting for more stock, so the video is a little wobbly.

and the aftermath: (already stripped, cleaned and ready again for tomorrow)

Nice vid :) Really makes me want to fly FPV with banking! Looked very smooth considering what you said about the props?

Thanks, I won't keep banging on about it but as I mentioned few pages back I had been flying in horizon mode for around 6 months and didn't really make much progress but since trying out rate mode it feels so much easier and natural once you get used to it. There is no fighting self level for control.

Some of the wobbling will also be my fault for example over correcting etc but yeah I'm stuck having to use unbalanced props with tiny chips in while I wait for stores to get stock of HQ props.

What's rate mode?

On my KK I have just got Self Level and full Manual. Like you say not having SL on for FPV makes it much easier as your not constantly rocking back and forth fighting the self level.

Hmm, bit worries about one of the 450 motors, my attempts at the moment of cleaning it, iv hoovered, tried cotton bud etc, spin the other motors by hand they are quite free moving, this one that got covered the most in mud doesnt move as well.

Can you take the motor apart easily?

Manual mode. It's just the Multiwii moniker for it.

These guys have some HQ props in stock and I think makeitbuildit still have some of the plastic ones available too.

I've been on the 5045's for a while now and they are ok, but suck quite a lot of juice for not much more power/speed. Have gone back to 5040 on the mini H and 6030 on both my Hexa's. Will be getting some 4s batteries next month for both to up the power output a bit.

Ebay seems only to have Gemfans, their 5030/5040s are fine for general 3s flying. I'm really after some decent 6030s which seem to fly well with both 3s and 4s. The gemfan 6030s are reportedly made of glass and people have destroyed them just bench testing. They have some reinforced (grey) ones but they are 2x the weight.

I think I'll go though my stack of HQ 5040s first, maybe drop the max throttle when on 4s (danger they will spin too many RPMs). I've written to Phil on makeitbuildit to find out when the HQ6030s come back into stock.

It is the looptime in which the PID calcs and sensor measurements are done at, the lower, the higher the frequency of update which should match what your ESCs can handle, some explanation here:
http://blog.oscarliang.net/naze32-on-mini-quad-fpv250/

but if it aint broke don't change it, but it is relevant when comparing PIDs as different looptimes will dictate different PID settings.

Finally the 450 is getting cleaner, although lesson learned.

Dont land in the soggy mud and land on the stone. The quick sinking mud is an absolute nightmare to come off. It keeps coming back as dust, and it goes everywhere

I spent a good hour cleaning my 250 after hitting the mud last weekend too DJ. I used a toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol gently on the motors and other bits and it worked great - but do that at your own peril :) as I'm sure it won't be good for bearings if they are greased. I did respray the motors bearings with GT85 for good measure and seemed to fly with no probs over the weekend though. I'm sure it's better than all the muck that was in the windings.

GT85 is a degreaser isn't it much like WD40?

Nice video ash, that looks like a great place to fly, i was picking out lines more than watching the actual flight :D where is it?
Cycle time/loop time is 1600 on mine, generally the consensus is the lower the better, i think it is to do with how often a instruction is sent to the speed controllers form the naze, low cycle high refresh on the esc = responsiveness/

I wouldn't go as far as saying gt85 and wd40 are degreasers, they have some solvent properties that could dislodge grease, but are still lubricants IMO.

Cool will give that a go, is it reccomended to use something like that on? What about something like PCB cleaner ?

Got most of the muck out, but would be good to give it a good clean at some stage

Look what the DHL man dropped off for me today :D that is a emax 12a esc out of its heatshrink next to the beasty 20a oneshot125 and active breaking enabled rctimer esc.
