Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

Another vote for the X4, they are great little things.

I bought one over the summer and it was one of best buys of the year. They are easy to fly in normal mode but once you get more skilled you can stick them into advanced mode and do basic tricks, flips etc.

Anyone got any idea where I can buy another PCB and motors or is it cheaper to just buy a new kit? Smoke came out of mine!

I'm adding a Fat Shark Predator to our DJI Phantom; would it be bad to install the Predator boards inside the main Phantom housing (albeit with the aerial sticking out)? The only problem I can foresee is heat but the Phantom does have vents.

Thoughts?

With our gimbal installed the areas available to mount the transmitter to are very limited without interfering with the movement of either the gimbal or the GoPro.

I think you can get most of the parts from Banggood.

Need to look at fixing mine, it won't sync with the transmitter any more. :(

Decided to mount it on the outside thought it's not as neat. Think I've done a pretty good job with the rest of it though considering it all had to be custom fitted and I've never done anything like this before.

DJI Phantom, Tarot T-2D Gimbal, Fat Shark Predator v2 and some custom 3D-printed landing gear extensions. The gimbal is screwed directly to some adapted plates which sit inside the battery compartment and its servo cable feeds directly up into the Phantom (can just about see the small cable in #3). The back shows the power cable which is soldered to the mainboard power and the Predator transmitter.

Just need to wait for a 3s power extension that I've ordered for the Predator board which is housed inside to reach the front of the battery compartment and then we can take it out!

Russinating were you flying it down on College Green yesterday morning by any chance? I walked past just as someone was launching something similar and it got me thinking, you could probably get some good shots out over the harbourside providing you can keep it in the air! :D

hey all, a Guy I'm building a site for selling all this gear has given me his dgi phantom to play with.

I tried it out today and damn I found the controls really sensitive, is this normal?
this is my first time flying one so I didn't know what to expect.
also are they easy to strip down as he wants me to do some videos of changing parts.

thanks

Thanks guys. And no not us petri. Our office is on Queen Square so we normally take it up from there when testing it out. Took this when we first got it: http://i.imgur.com/dpsq2xY.jpg

I live near the bridge so will definitely take it up there over Christmas, especially if it snows!

Ah fair enough. That shots great though! I always find it interesting seeing somewhere familiar from above, somehow things never seem to line up quite as I expect

I dont know if its okay to post Amazon links? but the Hubsan X4 H107L is £33.98 on there at the moment, looks like a cracking little thing! looks like my misses is buying me one :D

I'm pretty sure you can mention competitors so long as you're not linking to something that OcUK sell. No different to Rainforest/Purple Shirt Store/Indian Food or whatever other blatantly obvious pseudonyms people like to use :p

You have mail :-)

Edit can't find them on there now... I ordered one though last week
