Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

Question.

Obviously in the UK you need a drone license to fly them commercially.

But what about if your doing stuff for free to help someone out but your not selling the film, and they are not selling the film and its for abit of video footage for their masters degree short movie? And you shoot the footage following all the rules of normal hobby flying ? - also id film the day out for a vlog id wanna make, all hobbiest film making etc

Whats the rules regarding that ?

So i've had my Mavic a few weeks, and was talking to the people over at Heliguy, They've offered a Forum Group-Buy Discount on the fly-more combo's at a price of £1079

Despite having bought a drone myself already, I wanted to offer this to anyone interested , the caveat is that they would need 20 members interested to make it happen. I personally think this is a bit high still and there may be more margin to push.

1) I make nothing from this, I could make a saving if i bought one too but i already own one so no need
2) Orders and payment managed directly by Heliguy directly.

Anyone interested please reply and if there's enough interest i'll feed it back to Heliguy and they'll do the rest

People, I have a DJI Phantom 3 Professional with 3 batteries and a few other bits and pieces for it.

Im looking at selling it locally but not sure what its worth. Would asking £500 be too much??

Thanks.

£759 Rilot? That's a damn good deal. I'm looking to sell my Phantom 3 and move up to a Mavic this year, will have a look on Amazon.

Yeah, I figured as much. I am happy to have the original though. It's good enough for what I want to do and I'm sure the new one will be £1200+.

Yep, if I had the money perfect time, the old one is great.
New one will be better but not sure it's worth it. Can't see any stand out features which I would want.
