Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

Wowsers thats a cracking price, i'm presuming thats bought from overseas? cheapest I could find the combo was about £750 but that would take a while to arrive and I thought for the sake of £50 it was worth buying a UK one (not that theres any difference other than power cable)

Yeah mate I think so, off the bay when they did the 20% off code, I think it's coming from a french seller - for the price I couldn't refuse lol. Sounds like you still got a cracking price for the fly more combo though :)

It wasn't ebay not sure in can mention them or not but UK stores and online

Seems they still have stock but don't include the controller any longer

After a few weeks now with the Mavic Pro I realise that I absolutely made the right decision to buy one.
It's so fast and easy to deploy compared to my Inspire and the image quality is not a million miles away. Yes, it's low light performance and dynamic range isn't there compared to the X5 but it's comparable to the X3. However for the type of photography I do it's good enough.
Very happy with it indeed.

Loving my Pro also. Was nervous at first but after a few flights it’s very easy to fly. I ended up getting another 2 batteries and a proper case. I also used my iPad with it for the first time, the bigger screen is nice but blocks the control view.

how do you find the air mate? not had mine out yet
Had a quick flight today, initial thoughts are good, having had a pro platinum previously the obvious negatives to the pro are the battery life, range and controller display (having said that i used the tablet display mainly). The build quality isn't quite as good on the air but still good enough but its so much more compact, feels much nimbler to control in sports mode too, its a bit noisier than the platinum, but the video quality does seem a little better, like the asteroid mode although it only does it for a 10 second clip. Was a little breezy but seemed to cope just aswell as the pro did, had it up in the air for about 12 mins with about 48% left, but I think real world life will be somewhere around 17-18 mins with about 20% left which i guess is ok as I have 3 batteries, ill probably keep an eye on the mavic 2 when its released

Then starts the cleanup operation.
Been there many times, wasting hours digging mud out of motors:)

Wasn't bad. Quick brush off and reattached the vtx aerial and I was back in the air again.
The next time I was concentrating on following the other quad too much and go too low on a turn.
Still it was a fun fly about.

Also had a quick blast on the weekend, only a battery worth though. Very impressive. I wish you could customise the asteroid mode to get it up higher though. Very clever bit of kit with the obstacle avoidance stuff, amazing how far they have come on

Took my newly acquired mavic pro to Warsaw, Poland with me at the weekend and had my first go at editing a video.

Know absolutely f all about photography so any tips are more than welcome! It was really bright and I had nothing higher than nd32, gonna buy an nd64 I think.
