Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

The 300mAh batteries I had for my Hubsan X4 don't fit. The 240mAh ones do though.
There's no parallel charger for these tiny cells. The best thing is to just get a few of the charge cables. A lot of the places on the bay give you a free charge cable with some batteries so you can charge more than 1 at once.

The 300mah fit if you remove the small plastic tabs in the battery tray? Where's best to sourcetthem from?

The missus is getting me a Syma X4 for Xmas before I go and spend loads on building my own (have 250 and 450 chassis already 3d printed)..

I did get 2 Turnigy 260mAh batteries that I hope will fit, I also got a Micro Losi adapter so I can plug them into my Overlander charger, I am hoping at 4C or 5C charging that would be 15 mins or so.. but not sure if it works like that? (The batteries are the Turnigy Nano-tech which state 5C charge rate)

DJI Zenmuse H3-3D Gimbal
Edit.... Sod it, order has been place and now time will tell. It listed only 3-5 working day delivery.

What are you going to be running in it?

I've got another arriving tomorrow - ordered Wednesday evening and it was shipped today :)

Am going to try swapping out the main gimbal unit itself not the GCU in order to see if it's my old GCU that's bricked as if the gimbal part itself is fine I can flog that for a few bob or keep it for a second build :o

Started tonight - practice of a little bit of soldering - seemed to go ok!

Mounted motors/LED's on the arms etc - all 4 done. Next is the ESC's on the arms etc but will need chopped down in length a bit as they are fairly long wires.

Pictures of progress tomorrow!

I must be imagining charging 5 batteries at once... :p

GoPro Hero 3 Black is the camera I got. Presume this is what you mean.

You've a H3-3D coming too, where did you order yours?

Ordered all my FPV 250 parts from Hobbyking yesterday. Got as much as I could from the UK but sadly motors, ESCs and VTx had to come from China

Really hoping they make it here before xmas but I'm not going to hold my breath

I had one which I bricked so have ordered another - got it from RC Geeks down in Crawley (near Gatwick) - same price as you paid but I had ordered from them before and knew they used good reliable delivery companies!

Already got my one hour time slot from Interlink for the delivery so can plan my day a bit better!

If you ordered by DHL - they were less than 4 days for me once dispatched.

How did you brick it?

Anyone got photos of there F550 layout? Wanting to get mine wired up a bit but have it all neat.

All ESC's solder to the main board and arms mounted to bottom part of frame.

Wiring is ok with the side mounted - will tidy up as I go

Next is to decide whether I go with the battery underneath and KK board on top or the other way round. Might be a few days for next update as busy weekend with the kids ahead!

Any alternatives to Hobby King for buying parts in the UK?

Been reading reviews of their customer service and it sounds shocking!

If I have no choice with HK, I assume buying from the UK warehouse is the safest option?

Really, you want the weight of the battery as close to the plane of the motors as possible. Above makes it quite tippy, below acts like a pendulum and feels a bit more stable to me.

KK2 in the middle, so it's protected by the top plate should anything go wrong and battery slung underneath if it was me.

With my f330 clone, putting the battery on the top means it is perilously close to the props - something else to consider?

Not really 100% sure what caused it but I was performing a software update using the DJI Gimbal Assistant software and something must have gone wrong as it would no longer initialise correctly!

I did take some photos of my F550 build but not got them on the PC and besides my layout is far from tidy! :p:o

Clearance on props seems fine - Will double check later.

Not sure at all what to do -
