Hi,

What Wireless HD transmitters do folks use here?

I'm looking for a as close to Zero Latency transmitter. (not a Teradek sadly, too expensive)

There's only 2 choices really. The Teradek and the LightBridge. If Teradek is too expensive then LightBridge definitely is.

I just make do with plain old 5.8GHz PAL. Works well enough for OSD and shot framing. I'm thinking about getting a LightBridge though.

Hmm... I'm moving house after Christmas, do I put the 250 in a box ready to move, or do I sneak it into the back of the car and take it to my parents for some Christmas fun?

I've not actually flown it since I rebuilt it, so I should probably test it first.

Do you really need an answer? Of course you put it in your car, what if it got damaged during the move?

Also xmas is the perfect time to go flying, good excuse to escape the house if you need to or laugh at all you relatives trying to fly it

I wasn't allowed to take any of my craft to Poland for christmas. So, I sneaky bought my nephew a Syma X4. We will have fun with that on christmas day.

Screen is a Flysight Black Pearl. Dual diversity antennas (with one patch and one skew planar).
What I like about it is the built in, removable battery and that it has an HDMI input so I can still use it if I upgrade to an HD video transmission setup.

Beware though, they don't seem to work very well with the Immersion RC 600mW transmitter for some reason. It works with all other stuff from Immersion and FatShark as well as the Boscam frequencies that DJI and cheapo Chinese vTxs use.

vTx is the DJI AVL58 on the S800 EVO, and cheapo 250mW Chinese things on the Phantom 2 and FPV250.

Well that's interesting as that's exactly what I've gone for - will let you know how I get on >.<

Having checked online though there don't seem to be huge issues being reported with the tx and that rx setup so could be a minor issue some people suffer (he says hopefully!).

My main concern is I think I chose badly with the Fatshark Pilot HD camera as it appears to suffer jello issues pretty badly from videos I've seen so might need to return that and get another different camera - what do you use Rilot?

I've got one of those cameras and it's utterly, utterly useless. The issue isn't the jello it's the 0.5s lag on the video feed when using it for FPV. It's completely unusable as an FPV cam. The video it records is OK though.
I use a simple board cam as my FPV camera on my FPV250. You can get get decent and cheap ones from Makeitbuildit. For video recording get yourself a Mobius. I recently got one and it's great. I'm not using it for FPV as there have been reports of it randomly shutting down. Got it mounted below my FPV cam so it sees the same view.
On the Phantom 2 I have the GoPro mounted on a Zenmuse and then another FPV board cam hard mounted to the chassis. I use a video switch to flick between them.
On the S800 EVO I again have the same board camera for FPV and a Sony Nex5 mounted to a gimbal. Again, I have the ability to switch between the gimbal camera and the fixed FPV unit.

I have a GoPro 4 black in an H3-3D so that's doing my recording - all I need is a decent fpv camera to fly by - also I might try and work out a tilt head for it at some point so I can look down!

I am going to try the fpv feed from the GoPro (which I can tilt downwards remotely already) once I get one of the cables but BYOD were out of stock when I ordered the other bits!

Just dropped some cash on a Flytrex Live 3G.....I've had enough of the thought of 550 flying away never to be seen again and as far as I can see I should never lose it with this fitted.

I've found I prefer to fly about using stabilized FPV from GoPro on gimbal... makes for a very smooth experience.

I do have a fixed FPV camera I can switch to during flight, but I just use this as a backup... and as I'm not sports flying, but more just enjoying the view and taking photos / video, the GoPro FPV feed is perfect

Does your GoPro gimble rotate? Do you get disoriented if you lose track of which way the craft is pointing compared to where the camera is pointing?

Let us know how you get on with it. Considering one for the P2. It's a shame it doesn't work with the A2 or I'd get one for the S800 EVO.

Hi all, pondering on the idea of building something, I used to have a nitro rc plane and controlled by spektrum dx6i transmitter and receiver but didn't get on with planes so much, crashed it ages ago, sold my gear

I'm thinking of a quadcoper build that will give me good manoeuvrability, quick on accent/decent, has good range, can fly at decent altitude

Can anybody reccomend the base/body, and parts list, including transmitter, reciever and rough idea on how much?

I want to aim for something that I can build and be able to mount a decent res camera on
