good joke, regulation won't stop the people who break the rules already from breaking new ones.

Where did you take off from? Been trying to find somewhere decent down there,

I know someone at the rowing club who let me take off from there. There’s a big field at the back of the rowing club with public access too, should be alright to take off from there as not too many people use it.

Frsky L9R long range receiver has allowed one of my mini quads to stretch it's legs, without changing to a UHF system.
Range testing is going well, and it seems ideal if you only intend going out moderate distance on 2.4ghz
I've only ever done this trip with a wing in the past, so doing it with a 5" mini quad is pretty impressive.

Case in point with my last comment. Another completely illegal flight posted to YouTube for the authorities to use as evidence, good job

Indeed. Not impressed.
I bust my ass to make sure I'm completely safe and legal when I fly. Drives me nuts when people just don't care, because it's only those of us who try to fly within the law who will suffer.

I miss my mavic but it’s doing some serious mileage out in Australia with my brother lol.

I’ll have it back in my hands around July time then I can get back to flying around in a massive field where no one really goes and is safe.

I'm looking out for a cheap spark eventually, it's enough for my casual flying and can't justify a Mavic.

I wouldn't bother with the Spark. It has terrible range, 2 axis gimbal, and is less convenient to deploy when compared to the Mavic. I'd buy a 2nd hand Mavic Pro rather than a Spark.

Someone at work has kindly 3D printed a bracket I needed for the camera on my quad.. so hopefully, next weekend I can crash it for the first time

The Spark is ok as a close range quad and the image quality is very good but if you want to cover a big distance I’d definitely go for the Mavic.

And what's terrible range to you? I only fly racers anyway, so wouldn't be flying miles away like a lot of people do.
