Muse - The Resistance

If you danced, you'd merely be a gomba.

It's always better to be a gomba, than a goober!

I actually struggle not to dance to that song anyway. Do a dancing version ;)

Just had a go at covering unnatural selection but I get all nervous when recording :(

Gonna watch it back now! If it's horrific I won't bother uploading :p

I'm currently trying to decide whether I would like this as I've not really got much knowledge of the band (reading Wikipaedia and the Rainforest reviews in a minute).

If I say my musical interests are 80's classic rock - Genesis, Floyd, Alan Parsons but also currently power/prog metal (Nightwish, Stratovarius, Dream Theater etc.) and the odd bit of trance/techno, is this for me?

The description makes it sound as though it is - I love majestic overblown bombastic melodies, then suddenly in cuts the soaring guitar guitar solo to make your spine tingle.

So, please...spec me - will I enjoy this?

Took the plunge, quite like so will probably check out the back catalogue. The vocalist reminds me of (Roy) Khan of Kamelot, some of the songs have a vaguely Kamelot feel to them as well (IMHO).

Just given it a first listen... Not impressed. Totally self indulgent. He may a well be playing the guitar with his willy. Track 8 half in French with a clarinet solo? Gtfo.

I concur that the latter segment of the album is fairly weak.

I belong to you onwards - i agree, but the 'power songs' (unnatural selection and mk ultra) are the only things for me which stop the album being a total flop. I loved resistance and undisclosed desires when i first heard them, now a couple of months down the line i've found myself just not listening to them any more.
