Muse - The Resistance

I've just gotten in from seeing them...

It was amazing. No other way to describe it! Will go into more detail tomorrow. Bed time now!!

Agreed. Just got home myself. I was blown away. Methinks it might just have topped the Wembley gigs, as well as drawn even with the TCT gig at the Royal Albert Hall in 2008.

For those going later on today: With regards to bringing in photographic equipment, it seems there was some leniency about (lots of people with EOS 400, 500DSLRs –*and similar smallish things), though I wouldn't be pushing the boat out or pushing my luck with a 5D and a fat lens on the front.

The stage set was pretty groovy. ;)

Saw them last night; an awesome show! Enjoyed everything about it except for the late finish as I had to be up at 5:30am for work :(. Didn't take my D90 in the end for fear of it being taken, but not worried about lack of pics.

Last night was excellent, but I dont think it was close to Wembley. Wembley was just overwhelming, this was excellent but didnt have the same vibe.

Also playing exogenous as an encore is dumb; the whole arena went flat after that.

WE WANT MK ULTRA!

Really enjoyed the Resistance tour.... thought the staging was brilliant and the sound quality amazing (went to o2 Dublin).

But ideas getting recycled - the confetti filled balloons.... seen it before and the encore have to agree with ^^ I remember (think it was last year) PIB was the encore and it finished the gig off with a nice bang.

MB looking sexy as ever lol. Dom was v vocal at Dublin too.

Considering hanging around the o2 (London) tonight for more tickets...

They have announced two dates next year.

One of them being Wembley, the other is Lancashire Cricket Ground, I think.
It's in September, 10th/11thish.

Tickets go on sale next Friday.

:D Am hoping to get tickets for Wembley since I missed out this time.

The balloon thing is jsut their trademark per se they have as you no doubt no been doing it for ages.

I saw them on Thursday and it was a very good show. I had a good mosh and just about survived. I think they picked a very good selection of songs from the new material and played plenty of classics too.

However, I made the terrible mistake of looking at reviews on the official muse message board, my self declared 'worst website on the internet'. People were complaining about the set list and calling it dull and predictable. Muse are a stadium band now, many of the people there will not have all of their albums and many more will simply be more familiar with their new material - they have to play for everyone, not just 'die hard' (read as 'sad, pathetic and childish') fans who say their night was ruined with the lack of MK Ultra or the addition of Feeling Good. It's as if they have nothing more exciting to do than read every setlist as they happen and moan about them.

And don't even get me started on the whole 'rock for clever people' phrase either. I really hate those Muse websites and the morons that post on them.

Some Photos and videos from last night to follow :)

And yes, I was rather drunk which explains the retarded dancing/ camera moving and horribly out of tune singing :D

Just back today (after staying at my parent's down south). The gig last night was amazing, my highlights were the rotating drum and base duet but even more so Cave (a-la piano) which was outstanding!

The whole Plug in Baby made the crowd go absolutely mental, the whole arena was bouncing for it! Exogenesis was very good as a guitar piece, really enjoyed that and the finish of Stockholm Syndrome and KoC was just amazing as their are probably my favourite 2 tracks. :)

Question for you Gustov or anyone sat around your side - could you see the way Matt's piano lit up in tune with the music from your side of the stage? (I was sat opposite side to you and a bit further back.)

To be honest I'd be disappointed if they hadn't done the balloons, it's a muse tradition! Though they seemed a lot bigger back in 2001! :D

Wasnt sure if you'd be able to see it, but it had some sort of lighting system built into the lid which could detect which note was being played and light up part of the lid of the piano, thought it was brilliant :) - small touches though i suppose :)

did anyone think they went off into orion at the end of one of their encore songs?

i swear they finished the song and went into orion for a couple of bars.
