My Galaxy S2 broken? (with photo's now)

Moisture in an exposed port LMAO. I would phone Samsung and complain about the company.

Hopefully you removed all your personal data before you sent the phone in right (like pictures, email accounts etc etc.)

I have complained to Samsung, they are backing the repair company too.

It's a joke. I'm even willing to pay a smaller fee to just repair the EFS corruption and have no warranty going forwards but they "cannot" do this. But I'm not willing to pay £55 for a external port issue which COULD NOT have caused the corruption - the service centre even confirmed that the corruption was not caused by the moisture.

This thread suggests the water detector is:
on the underside of the rear chassis, to the left of the camera if you're looking at the chassis when attached to the phone. (so in other words, no where near the USB ports)
So if there is ingress I'd want good proof. Get them to send you a shot with the serial in it too so you know they arn't sending you photos of someone elses handset.

The ridiculous thing is about all those flippin' water detectors, is that you can set them off simply by sweating. For example, if you have your phone on an arm band whilst you work out/run etc.. then you could actually make these bit of paper invalidate your warranty. Insane.

And why exactly are they unable to repair the phone under warranty for something that is nothing to do with the fault? (EDIT: as above with serial :-) )

Phone running GPS whilst running: Hot phone, cold weather = condensation. Awesome, what incredible technological advances we've made in ****ing customers off.

The thing is I have always praised Samsung and their phones. I have been seriously excited about getting the new G-S3. But with issues like this, I'm at a loss.

I don't want to pay £55 for bringing the phone "back into warranty" for them to them repair the issue I sent the phone in for for "free" - which was not even caused by the USB port anyway. I'm due a new phone upgrade on my contract in 4-5 months anyway.
I have always praised how iphones are over rated and that Samsung phones/support is better.

I'm not pleased.

Just remembered something, my phone loses connection to the radio software if it is rebooted with the charger plugged in. It shows as "unknown" IMIE in the menus

I'd thought it was my custom ROM causing a problem, it could be a "generic" fault with some handsets

Seriously? That is an utter joke. It's an exposed contact.

That could easily be considered wear and tear, i.e. you used it. It looks like they are picking faults in order to save money, that is ridiculous.

I was going to get a Nexus/S3 on my next upgrade. now I am not so sure

especially with laughable service like this. I can imagine it to be most frustrating

Ace Modder, why EXACTLY are they refusing to repair it because of ALLEDGED (doesn't look rusty to me) moisture in the USB port. What is it EXACTLY that is stopping them from solving your IMEI problem? Will the USB port not work, is it policy.. what?
