ive managed to get someone at work to test the memory out for me on his setup to rule that out as the cause

its passed memtest no probs both windows and dos versions so looks like this combination doesn't work well :(

only thing i can say is set your voltage and timings manually and try FSB ratio of 1:1 and 1:2 your have 1:2 so try the former and up the FSB voltage by 0.1v

Getting back to what I said!!

I still dont think that OC should sell the Asus P5B Deluxe / 2GB GeIL PC2-6400C4 DDR2 Dual Channel Kit - Bundle (BU-043-OK) if there is problems with the combo!!

I still have'nt got mine to do the 800 and 4-4-4-12 as stated ON THE PRODUCT  let alone overclock the dam things!!

i'm having the exact same problems with my set and strangely it's on a p5b deluxe also, have you tried using the 1 previous bios to the 0804 (0711 iirc) - here are the problems i've been having - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17655638

your ram is running way passed specifications dude, its only programmed
to PC4300 @ 5.4.4.12 timings, so anything over 300 is a bonus.

thats only what cpuz is reading the ram as, its actually rated @ 6400 cos its the same ram everyone else in this thread is talking about. But from what other people say it should read 5300 however setting it at 2.1v should help it stay steady @ 800mhz so it must be the motherboard @ fault

could someone else post up what there SPD tab says about there memory?

thats how memory is programmed, the SPD tables dont lie
cpuz read what the manufacturers type into the memory
it can be changed.

my geil sayed pc 5300 in max bandwith, yours says 4300 are you sure its
the PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency kit you have.

if not i would send them back to geil. you've been sold a lower spec

i bought them from here i hardly think they are lower spec, there must be another reason for this
also the bios could be reading the SPD wrong from what ive read in this thread this is not the only board to do so ?

right ive tried this with a 940D chip thinking that it would run @ 800Mhz but no go and cpuz is still showing it as being PC2 4300 help

scratch that, sorted, with the 940D there were more options opened up in the bios so i set it to 800 with a 4-4-4-12 timing and +0.3 volts and voila it works

still shows up as PC2 4300 but i aint worried bout that :D
im one happy chappy, just shows that this foxconn board dont like the 805D :(

Hope Mr Gibbo is right, some on the way :)

[ui]ICEMAN, any chance we can hook up on MSN or something, I have this board/mem coming and might need some help with the settings etc as I haven't clocked anything other than AMD's ;)

Sure, hit me up, I'm around most evenings :)
