My journey out of obesity

Psyllium Husks are handy stick like bugger to the glass though. Personally I just used to put a tsp of them into my mouth and then quickly neck half a pint to wash them down.

Well I hit the gym with some weights for the first time since I dislocated it and it felt good little bit niggly before I'd warmed up but no pain or anything during and I don't seem to have lost too much/any strength.
I concentrated more on volume today with lower weights but did throw the odd higher one in to see how it went and it seems all good, if it doesnt give me any trouble before I see the specialist I might wait and see what he has to say and unless he thinks theres a definate need for surgery il probably turn it down and work on strengthning the surrounding muscles which did seem to be working as it hadnt given me any bother since I started at the gym properly.

I has my MRI last friday my word its tight in those things, so now I'm just waiting to hear when my apointment with the specialist is so I can actually find out whats going on in there.
I've knocked up this diet for the moment just to try and keep the weight down while I'm not being massively active.
Its not massively stirct but that should mean theres more chance of me sticking to it, then hopefully il tighten up it when I know I can go back to training properly again.

out of interest what site is that for the nutrition break down of foods

Just thought id sitck some comparison photos up to show you dont have to loose a massive amount of body weight to change the way you look, its all about the body fat %.
Theres under a stone in weight difference between the Jan09 photos and the Nov10 ones.

Well I've been back in the gym a few times over the last couple of weeks and my shoulder seems to be holding up fine with little to no strength loss in any exercise, which is good :D
I've also switched to a low carb diet just to stoke up some fat loss to get rid of the extra baggage I've gained over the last few months, first week in and feeling good going to go for 12days before a carb up which will come in the form of a night out for my mates birthday/being accepted into sandhurst celebrations. Lets just hope I stay strong and can get straight back to low carb even with a killer hangover :o
My house mate has just started on the lighter life diet as well which means theres no carbs in the house to tempt me, although its very strange seeing a massive doorman drinking something I'd normally rightly or wrongly associate with obese women, but he wanted to try it and it fits in with his hectic lifestyle well so I'm being as supportive as possible along with talking him through the finer points of ketosis and low carbing in general. Apparently the lighter life people put ketosis down to being in a low kcal state rather than anything to do with carbs, so whether my house mate just wasn't listening or they really don't know what their talking about I don't know.

I've just been reminded how awesome a cheat meal is after being strick all week, had a massive day on at work today so only managed a double scoop protein shake this morning and some tuna and salad.
But I was out walking the dog tonight and felt I deserved some chips so after a small bag and some grilled chicken breast with jerk seasoning I'm feeling dam good.
Also doing some massive volume on legs the day before you need to be on your feet for 10.5 hours is a silly silly idea

Back in the gym again tonight, tried some dead lifts for the first time since my shoulder went as I wasn't sure how it would handle having all that weight hanging off it but it was absolutely fine.
Still no word from the hospital on a specialists appointment.
I'm actually enjoying going really low carb at the moment its really stripped the water off me at least so my face is looking much leaner and also I always find that the first place for me to loose fat when I'm low carbing is my love handles which have come in nicely.
On a slightly different note my house mate really underestimated just how hard doing the lighter life diet would be and is taking a fair bit of friendly abuse from me :D

Nice one, keep up the good work :p. Considering going low carb/calories myself when I want to cut (prob ~jan), lets hope my insatiable hunger permits :p. I tend to store it all in my love handles .

The hungers not too bad after a day or 2, you would be surprised just how little you can eat and still not feel massively hungry.
Anyway little update to get me away from dissertation writing, shoulders been fine in the gym recently but I was mucking about with a mate last Friday and he slammed me into a wall shoulder didn't like it so its been a bit niggly this last week but on the bright side I do have an appointment at the hospital bright and early Friday so we shall see what the specialist has to say :D

Just back from the hospital and they basically told me nothing new and that the mri scan they had me in for is useless 70% of the time, so instead of trying to do any more their going to get me in and open me up before they decide what their actually going to do.
Just got to wait for a date for that now

Low carb diet killed my hunger, I can eat any time I want but dont really get hungery (I dont know if its the same for other people).

sugar cravings I found are killed by drinking diet coke... however I think thats the oposite to what its supposed to do but it works for me...

Craving sweet stuff died off almost totally once I started the low carb diet anyway

I've been having a think over the last few days and I seen over on MT that they've got another shape up comp starting up on the 3rd Jan.
I've decided I'm going to enter as its a good time after Christmas to knuckle down again and who knows if I by some miracle win its got some nice prizes usually.
Plus it means hopefully I'll be in good shape to show you all up at Body power :p

I just think it's great. I'd never have the dedication or motivation to do any show! So I'm always there 100% for anyone that does. :)

MT shape up comp is just a fat loss/muscle gain competition on the forums with who can improve their physique the most in ~12 weeks gets a couple prizes. Good luck on doing it. I'm considering doing it to, but if you've seen the results last time I doubt I'll win :p
