My Log Burner...

Love that Orifice. Love the look you got going, clean modern walls & sofas yet mixing in the traditional parquet flooring, radiators and wood burner. Looks great!

nearly finished, not sure about the grout colour, may change that for cream or light grey................I think Ive achieved a non twee cosy cottage mainstream install tho :-)

-snip-

Nice install, couple of points for me I don't think the tiles go with the wall paper they look a bit too public swimming baths. The skirting board should run right upto the alcove and not stop at the edge of the hearth as it looks silly just ending mid wall and finally that wall paper will always be massively twee ;)

Bad for the Enviroment tho... Nice Combi boiler at an a+ rating is cheaper, faster and more efficient

Burning wood in an efficient way is way better than any fossil fuel based nastyness if you take into account the end to end process and is much cheaper if you have access to a good source of wood or don't mind the occasional session of skip raiding our open fire was blazing most of last winter for a cost of about £40 in coal to add some extra heat to all the wood I had to clear from my allotment.

Lol fair points, in my defence the skirting is going to be fixed and a slim (approx 2in) metal surround will go round the edge of the recess, yes on the wallpaper/tiles thing, ultimately the paper will change to perhaps a more angular pattern.
