My MR2 Turbo MPG Record!

I get 100 miles on £20 of petrol.

Thats just under 22mpg on average. :(

I once seen 36mpg on the on board computer thing, but that what when I reset it at 56mph on the motorway. :o

To be honest 22mpg is **** considering i'm only at 200bhp. Worth it alone for the noise it makes!

after the latest bout of tweaks to the golf, i now seem to get 30mpg around town, not had it on a motorway since then, but im pretty amazed

Bloody hell Mike, that impressive! The most I've ever got from my Civic is 340 miles from about 48 litres which is under 33mpg. Just over 32 I think.

But then again booting it I get about 25-28mpg really on a run.

However the difference between booting it in my car and booting it in your MR 2 is quite a bit ;)

i got 294 miles to the fuel light from my last tank, it took 42 litres to fill up today :)

not bad as i was only off boost cruising for the last 15 miles

Well guys very proud of my self, filled up yesterday with 395miles on the clock 20 of them being town miles and filled my car up. Light had been on and off a few times, put in 45L and then was shocked how I got 39.9mpg from my MR2 Turbo.

I dunno how you can have a car like an MR2 turbo and just tootle around in it, getting 39MPG.

I just don't have the willpower to drive sedately for an entire tank worth of petrol, it would bore me senseless. It's a 2l turbo car with 200+BHP!!, you might as well get a Cinquecento if you're gonna drive everywhere in granny mode.

I've been using the CTR this week, almost empty and only done 150 miles, oops :D

Well since I got my headunit money has been a bit tight. :p

I do drive it fast, just doing silly speeds everywhere and having to worry about speed cameras isnt all that fun.

Sometimes its just nice to relax on the motorway, take it easy and watch how crazy everyone else is driving.

I also got 50 miles to near half a tank on the MM meet.

Tomorrow I dont expect to get anymore than 20mpg.

I somehow squeezed 56.28l into my 55l tank today!

I have been getting about 330miles per full tank - all of the time! Driven in normal mode.

Normal mode means 90% civilised driving and 10% nutter-mode.

sorry to resurrect a thread, but my GT4 just pulled a record attempt \o/

~400 miles from ~60 litres, brighton to trent bridge and back again!

31mpg :D

I got 40mpg peak from my 1850HL once, crusing at 60mph to Wales and back (over 550 miles)...Average combined worked out at about 36mpg looking at the bills....and that's a 1970's engine driving a 3 speed slushbox and the aerodynamics of a brick. Not bad, eh? :D

It's a sad day when a turbocharged performance car owner posts how pleased he is with his mpg when sticking to 55mph :p

Incidentally I managed 311 miles from a tank on my Pulsar once, and that was at a constant 80mph and before I had it remapped. As I was saving 1/4 a tank, every tank after the remap I could have matched yours and at a higher speed in a less aerodynamic car :p :p :p

Turbo cars definately give decent economy at high speed cruising.

My Rover would get 34-35mpg all the time. The S2000 hasn't done over 28mpg yet :(

This is why I asked for the size of the tank ;)
eh?
ok simple next time you fill up reset the milometer, use up that tank of fuel.
now wen you fill up again take a note of how many litres it took to refil the car,now take a note of how many miles you have done since you filled up last, this will be easy since you previously reset the milometer.

now use the simple sum to convert litres into gallons

1 litre = 0.22 gallons

so say you put in 40 litres

40 x 0.22 = 8.8

so you put in 8.8 gallons

now say you govered 350 miles since the last refill.

so that means

miles covered <divided by> gallons used = MPG

so

350/8.8 = 39.78 mpg

that shows you work out your mpg Triggerthat

or just use this
