My new Cab

it probably is. But ssh i'm losing an argument here :D

If I was a little drunker I probably wouldn't have noticed :p.

You've not done well enough, so you can either take your grand budget and just something tidy or you can concede. You're choice. I can do this all night long ;)

Nice car - looks very clean and tidy - both not worn out or rusty which is good. I can't believe people are saying you paid to much, from the photos it looks like it is a very tidy car and one on the edge of classic status and a summer convertible. I do not think £1000 would buy you anything in better nick!

I have a question though for you, how comfortable are the back seats for passengers? My parents are suffering for being a 2 car household with two 2 seater convertible cars that make going on short trips away more difficult!

You guys need to take a day off. It's market value is at least £1k whether you think it's good value for money or not. I'm pretty sure the OP won't lose money when he comes to sell it either. How many of you can claim to have the same luck? So who's the fool?

I don't personally like the car, but who am I to tell a man how he spends his £1k?
Totally agree. If he'd spent £5k on it, I'd be laughing along with the rest of them, but for £1k that looks pretty good to me. Granted, it's not the sort of car I'd buy myself, but then neither are some of the cars people spend £30k+ on

That's awesome :D Summer cab fun for under a grand which is sod all in the grand scheme.of things and that's assuming a zero resale value too!

I'm loving the keyboard car salesmen :p

Thing is its got a huge bracing loop thing in the middle and the roof sits on the back like a pram, so its nearly a normal car with a panaromic roof rather than a cab :D

In the same way a Caterham 7 has got a panoramic roof? it's only a roof bar hardly like me (or Ford) trying to say a 'T' bar MR2 is a Cabriolet :p

Looks to be a nice 'un in the pictures mate...now get yourself over to the XROC!!!
:)

Tried and looked into membership for insurance discount but all the links are dead ends and the phone number doesn't work, £150 fully comp with an agreed value isn't bad though :)

Really come on, did you just sort by lowest price and post the cheapest two :p, I looked at Golf's and Saab's, I figured when the Saab dropped a big bill it would be out of my spanner range and write it off cost wise and the Golfs although there was some nice condition later models with more miles they just don't appeal to me.

My mate had the roofed version of this as his first car. We banged so many handbrake turns that we broke the handbrake.

I'm ready to collect my man points now.

I miss that car.

Don't get me wrong

You've not been ripped off, if anything you've possibly paid less than the market value for your car.I'm not even trying to suggest they would have been better buys, I can understand how you might qute like enjoy the prospect of owning that car and would rather have it than an old golf or an old saab.

I'm just debating the value that old fords command on the 2nd hand market :)

Nothing like its market value - if its as clean as it looks, the OP could probably nearly double his money if he sold it within the right circles - no matter how skewed that market may be due to the "XR3 Scene tax"

providing theres no rust or rot on it, £1000 is a good price for that car. never liked um tho, engines are crap, they are slow and they rot :D
