Yes, read the reviews, i had a 2003 clio for 3 years and i've used a few corsa's, the clio is a far better drive.
Even in reviews such as parkers the corsa only scores 3 out of 5 stars and the clio 4 out of 5.

Whilst I agree fords are liked on this forum, I think it's for a damn good reason. I had sought the advice of this forum before purchase and ended up with a fantastic car which I still have. Otherwise I would have rushed into something and probably ended up with a...

Erm, no thats why i said even in reviews such as parkers, meaning, even in what i would consider as the bottom end of the motoring press reviews they seem to get it right....

Corsa
So what ford did you get? A similarly aged fiesta? Or a focus? Because if a focus then its a different type of car and so irrelevent. If you got a fiesta, then you didnt get a significantly better car as they're as dull as anything
I dread to think of what people would say about my 1.1litre X-Plate Pug 206.
Awful car IMO. I think I'd rather the Corsa.

Thats easy, You've succeeded in finding a worse car than the corsa, infact possibly the worst car in its class.
But did he buy the car because it's cheap to insure or because of the size. I'm sure he would have had a Focus if he could have known he could insure one. Which he could have
And no doubt the price he paid for his Corsa he could have got an Amazing Foci for
I got a focus as I stated earlier...
I initially came here for suggestions thinking along the usual lines of corsa's/fiesta's etc. Until it became obvious that a focus would be (for me) a far better alternative. Not really irrelevant as had the op asked for advice pre-purchase (like I did) the chances are people would have recommended some credible alternatives which, dare I say, would be better than the corsa.

I like it, for £1,500 for my insurance isn't bad either
. I can't really say it's a nice drive as I've only had experience in a Citroen C2 1.1 (instructors) and my car so I haven't got much experience with a bigger engine. But I enjoy driving it so that's all that matters really .in what way?

That's fair enough - as long as you like it and are happy with the purchase, that is all that's really important. People will still point out that you could have done better for the money and so on, they are only trying to help because they want people to get the maximum reward for their outlay.
Jesus some of you guys are so undermining. Hes a young lad whose probably just got this Corsa as his first or second car. Not everyone on here can afford a BMW for their first car so give it a break for once.

Back when i was 17, which was 9 years ago it was a year old 1.1 Saxo.
But i fail to see what thats got to do with anything, you can get more for your money now etc.

Personally out of the supermini range and lowish budget I would have got a MK6 Fiesta over a Corsa, but if you are happy then enjoy it as they do not look bad.
