My new Dell 2405FPW - pictures & first impressions

Media Player Classic; WMP gives me stupid grey borders I can't same to make black, DVD X Player stretches and doesn't seem to have an option to letterbox...Real/Quicktime just plain suck...MPC is free and supports a lot of different formats. Bizarrely it runs off a single 1.27MB executable too o_O
 
Yeh I've just started using that (after solving a sound issue that I have no idea HOW I solved!).

I noticed that it doesn't stretch to fill the screen like PowerDVD, but the quality appears much better, so that must be due to the fact that it isn't strctching it.

Yes Hope this is what you want? I have shown 1 at normal aspect with the bars across the bottom and the others are resized to fit using power dvd6.

I have the full size images if you need them but I really didnt wanna post them here. Dont know how to do that small image link so here you go....

Use ImageShack to host them - it gives you the option just to post a thumbnail image like you suggested...

Wow i thought it would be in the middle of the screen with black blocks above/below DVD movie, Looks great.Still trying to justify spending that much on a monitor tho lol
 
Yes the black bars are not really a problem, I still love to fill in right in though. It is a lot of money but then your rig specs look good why not finish the rig off with a monitor to show it off. ;)

Personally I think its the best thing ive ever brought PC wise.

Yeah i wish all the prices were shown vat inclusive, at a quick glance my hopes are raised before beating them down again ;)

I doubt it will be unless the manu forces them to with their own pricing as they did before - AFAIK OcUK are being charged a higher rate per monitor than they were before so unlikely for a while...

So Baddass, the 2405 is good for gaming then?? I play a lot of CS:S and am now thinking of either the 200 or 2405 seing as how Viewsonic are stupidly only producing the new VP930 in silver.
 
well i have seen no problems with it, but i dont really play any FPS. I am hoping to have some time soon to run some more tests on the screen, so i might install a few more games and test it out. Full review soon i hope :)
