My New Toy!!!!!

thanks dad :D
but seriously thanks, i just need someone to remind me once in a while its best to wait.

But how long will you have to wait for a 68or69x0 with a decent non reference cooler?

Dual slot crop duster reference design coolers will always blow.

Yea that is true, the gtx 480 is still gona kick butt and you cant go wrong with purchasing it... but when a potential new card is only a few weeks away, its wise to just wait a little more time, to get your money's worth.

The market is dynamic, so we as consumer need to be adaptable. Play the market the way they play us!

Fair point, I totally appreciate that!

I guess everyone has different priorities when it comes to owning / buying these kinds of things!

I'm not trying to sound like a **** but I totally couldnt care less about the ATI 6000 series!!! (from a purchasing point of view)

Lets face it, if at any time you buy the flagship nvidia or ati card its gonna be pretty damn good and should last you for a while before you really NEED to upgrade.

I'm not an nvidia fanboy as I had a 5870 Vapor-x that I sold to part fund this card.

The GTX 480 is the best / fastest single GPU card in the world at the moment, and the KFA2 Anarchy edition deals with the heat and noise issues of the standard design; which were the only down sides of the 480 as far as I'm concerned.

I loved the look of this card..blue PCB, nice beefy cooler and the silver backplate. Plus nvidia do have the edge in driver performance and stability.

If we were all worried about what is coming next tech-wise nobody would ever buy anything...and by all speculative accounts so far the ATI / AMD 6000 series isnt going to be anything groundbreaking!!!

Ahh I now realise why the angry torrent of words. Your the op, and your cheesed becuase Im basically undermineing your purchase but saying to someone that they should wait....

Sorry, dude. Does it matter... Also Im in the same boat!

I only bought a 5870 2 months ago, becuase I couldnt wait! But, I know I should have, thats why Im trying to help others not make the same mistake I made. Additionally we are pretty close now to the new cards, so I would even force myself to wait, rather than purchase.

But of course, Im happy with my 5870, and your 480, is gona kick butt, so no need to feel short changed.

Dude, honestly I'm not angry or cheesed off at all!

I couldn't be happier with my purchase as it ticked all the boxes and requirements I wanted for my gaming pc.

I'm just trying to explain that it wouldnt have mattered to me what was coming out just around the corner, I got everything I wanted in one package....at a VERY VERY good price by the way!!! ;)

Good deal. 850+ on the core you are looking at very substantial performance gains, my 480 is at 850 core with reference cooler, amazing performance but not so quiet and 80c temps.

I thought so...considering the current price of reference design 480's...it was a small premium over that to get everything that this card offers

I'll post up some Furmark and MSI Afterburner screenshots when I get the card slotted in after work tonight!!!

But by all accounts in the reviews I have seen it stays very cool when running at its own standard overclocked settings.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the new AMD cards being released. The 480 will still be up to par.

KFA2 is the European premium brand of Galaxy, nothing to hide, proud to be a part of it.

Why we are different?

* We produce and manufacture our own Graphics Cards
* We only use non-reference fans and non-reference PCBs
* Overclocked products as standard offering
* European only brand
* European Support Facilities
* Backed by GALAXY who have been established since 1994.

Sound decent.

I think the point is that if ATI deliver the goods, the price of gtx480's will drop, not that somebody should get a ATI card.

You'd be gutted if you could get the KFA for £300 in a couple of weeks time.

I'm liking the custom cooling solution, overclockers delight next to water cooling, very very nice, i wish i could find a 5970 that had the accelero cooler on it, or if i could find one to fit.

The card looks to be a monster there is a review of it on guru3d atm if anyone fancy a reading.

I,m still getting use to the power of my 470 gtx, so a 850 core 480 gtx would be a quite a step up again. The aftermarket cooler is very good too and should be silent.

Have you got good case airflow a the heat dump of it should be shocking.

Enjoy :D
