but yep she'll get something ;) but can't be said here lol. :D

mattymaxx are u running 64bit os with the 940? i just wanna see if they've fixed the 64bit os clocking less than an 32bit os.

i really hope they've fixed the 64bit os issue clocking less than an 32bit os with same volts. it's about 200mhz differents

been stressing at 3.8Ghz as i said small voltage increase but temps still only at 30-31C lol

this is only using multiplier and volts now! there is no doubt the stock cooler wud allow you to get to here with reasonable temps!

u can also see my extra 80mm fans is working on the mobo 16C :-D

pushed it to 3.9Ghz now :-)

left multiplier at 19 as it didnt like any more on the multi!

so 205x19 at 3.9Ghz and is stressing, was at 12mins wen i had to finish my dinner break and get back to work lol... ill post more screens and results tonite!

Any chance you could run superpi?

I know it's not a useful benchmarking in general for AMDs but my apps are correlated with the performance of superpi. I would like to know how much of a difference there is between the 940 and an X2 6400.

V.nice. :D Looks great.

Quick question though, why are you only running 2 instances of Orthos and not 4?

Thanks. :)

EDIT: I need to get my Q6600 swapped out like, it runs hot hot hot! :p

lol. What is AM3? Is that just new mobo's with current AMD CPU's? (Sorry, I've lost track of AMD stuff since selling my A64 setup :o)
no. it's a new socket with ddr3. but the am3 chips are backwards compatible with am2+ motherboards. but current AMD CPU's won't work in a am3 motherboard.

Has it ever been confirmed that AM3 will be DDR3 only, rather than DDR3 or DDR2 but not both at same time?
Given how AMD seem to insist on having a DDR2 controller it seems possible that AM3 will support both.

maybe some am3 motherboards will have both but even IF the am3 motherboards supports both DDR3 and DDR2 the current AMD CPU's still won't work in a am3 motherboard because the am3 socket only as 939 pins

I wasn't implying that the current two chips will run on it, however given how expensive DDR3 still is, it would seem beneficial to have both on AM3 boards to make the upgrade path cheaper.

ok sorry.

some boards may have both but i can't see the point doing that because if u wanna use ddr2 just use the am3 chip in a am2+ motherboard.

I would figure that AM3 boards will have numerous improvements over AM2+ ones (other than simply supporting DDR3).
