Nice idea, badly executed IMHO. Some sort of custom fan cover with a set of LED fans would look nice. At the moment it just looks like the back end has been butchered. Good idea though, but personally I'll wait till mine is out of warranty until I think about modding it.
How about a perspex window for the side panels.

My 360 is under extended warranty so of course I wouldnt do anything insane like that .. Besides I honestly doubt doing that helped anything. :confused:

People that are saying "have you noticed a noise decrease" why the hell would he??? the machine will still pump out the same noise it just may not get as hot.

Nice 1 schnipps, finally someone has clicked that there may actually be a reason ive done it.

All i wanted to say to you guys is here this is what ive done and mabye supply some findings, man i love the internet

I did expect a lot of negative but the odd positive makes all it worth while

Asking if the noise is decreased isnt that unreasonable since the grating on the back of the 360 will restrict and deflect the airflow partially thus making noise. With the grating out of the way this will no longer happen. Obviously it was done to try and cool the 360, but it may have the secondary effect of making it more quiet. I'm not going to try it myself, but thought id ask about the effects on noise.

My flatemates friend brought his 360 round last night and they'd been playing it for a couple of hours when I got in and my god! The lounge was boiling. We live in a flat that is usually freezing (steamers in the toilet aren't uncommon). the 360 was more effective than my electric heater, I'm not kidding whatsoever. I dread to think how much electricity that thing uses.

As for the mod: psychotic.

i didnt realise the 360 had two deltas at the back! Bloody hell, it must sound like a jet engine.. I had one delta on my old athlon years ago, that was bad enough

No, it dosnt. Delta dosnt automatically mean loud.

The fans are as noisy as a quiet PC's, or most other consoles. The noise that peoplecomplain about (unfairly IMO) is when the DVD drive spins up to maximum speed.

People immediately think NOISE! when they hear the word Delta. Delta make some very good, quiet fans too!

The fans on my 360 aren't too bad, it's the DVD drive that makes all the racket.
