My Silverstone Fortress Build

Looking very nice indeed, can't wait to see the finished article! I'm really impressed with the case and am thinking I might upgrade from my cramped little Antec 300 soon, as I'm sure that I'd get better airflow in one of those. I'b be interested to see temps etc when you're up and running as I've never had a positive pressure case before and they're supposed to be rather good.

Obviously one of your fans will go in the kama bay, are you replacing the other front one too?

I'm concerned that the GPU will get enough cooling - I have a similar 4870 and the Arctic Cooling Twin Turbo and have found in my current case that I need a side case fan to get the VRM temps under control - can you post some GPU-Z results as well when you are up and going too please? :)

Pretty much everything that front fan sucks in gets punted straight at the graphics card, I wouldn't be worried about temps :)

i've removed and installed a floppy no trouble. the door actually opens fully (with gental force) when it's required.

My camera doesn't do it justice so will take better pics tomorrow when new TRUE arrives.

Ah, yeah just looked again. You just fitted the floppy in roughly the same position as the HDDs. I actually removed some of the plastic at the front so that the floppy would be further forward in the bay. That's obviously why I couldn't operate the door on mine properly.

The other front fan (assuming you are refering to the lower one) is a 180mm monster, so I doubt he would replace that.

With regards to the cooling potential of the case, you really need to see it operating in the flesh to properly appreciate how good it is. Once it's been running, open the side panel and the amount of cool air inside is astonishing.

One of the Xigmatek fans i'm getting will sit on the TRUE and the other as the exhaust.

As Diggsy said there is nothing but cold air venting out of my Exhaust fan currently which is astonishing.
Only heat coming from case is from GPU and PSU.

I've posted temps of the CPU with stock fan here

Ah thanks for that, those temps are amazing for that OC especially on stock cooling. I'm waiting to see what they're like with that Noctua, should be great.

So what fan are you gonna put in the bay... the old rear exhaust? I'm interested as I've seen others putting bays and a fan in and wondered how they affected the airflow and temps etc as I suspect that I'm gonna go down that route too.

in fairness to the KAMA the fan inside is pumping a decent amount of air into the case. Maybe not as much as a Noctua fan or Xigmatek would but i'll see how it goes before changing it. One possability though as you've said is to replace the fan with the old exhaust fan once i replace it with the Xigmatek.

I just hope it all arrives today so i can bench it all tonight and get it prime stable

Looking good magic. Your temps are amazing too, looking forward to seeing what its like with the TRUE, will you be pushing it further? 4.2 is already very good.

cheers mr_x_plosion.
The TRUE has arrived at home i've been informed (by the GF) so hopefully the fans will arrive today too.
Once they're fitted i shall indeed try for more.

grrrrrrrr my fans haven't arrived today.

I've got a spare 120mm fan at home which i shall use in the short term (it runs around 30db ) until the Xigmateks arrive. So tonight i shall sit in front of the TV with a beer, cable ties and cable tie base pads and hopefully get it looking pretty cool.

Then at least i can clock the cpu and get it stable.

Xigmatek fans haven't arrived yet but here it is 99% finished

Looks very nice man, but could you maybe show us the ugly side? :p I just received that PSU today after my old one died and I'm after some extra ideas on hiding techniques inside this case.
