N73 users here...

Ok my opinion of this phone has now shot up. Initially I was put off to the similarity to my N70, but now with more use I realise that it has been tweaked to be a LOT more user-friendly, and the screen is also fantastic. Just waiting for my 2GB Kingston memory card (£15 lol) and then TT6 will go on it.

Where are you guys getting the good programs from? :)

Oh by the way, anyone who is having trouble getting wallpapers to fit can make their own themes here at Ownskin... quality site http://www13.ownskin.com/create?c=3

Well first impressions here are fantastic. Looks awesome in white and red. Build quality is unusually good for Nokia (i've been through 3 N80s that were faulty). Navigation is quick, and loving Windows Live Messenger.

Does anybody know a good place to get third party apps?

Stupid question maybe but is the keypad locked?

Yeah it is, seems to always just say packet connection active and I have to hold down the red button to get rid. Will I be paying for this? I don't get any data calls on my contract.

Are any of you guys having problems with your N73 in terms of it being slow when going through menus and especially if you use the camera?

Using the camera is a pain in the backside cause if you take a picture, thats about all you will take cause the phone takes forever to resond to a button press?

I have had the phone about a month or so now and never updated the firmware but I have noticed that the phone isn't too bad if I take my 2gb Sandisk mem card out.

The phone is very slow if the mem card is in the phone.

Update to the latest firmware, it's free and you can do it via Nokias website.

And 2GB cards will slow the phone down considerably. :)

I wasn't aware that a 2gb card would slow down the phone. I'll update the firmware to see if there is any performance boost.

Using a 2GB card in mine, running ok.

Will update to the latest firmware too, see if it makes any difference.

Yes of course, just select a default theme.

Why... purchasing them of course. :p
:D :D

The only down side I see to the n73 is the slowness now and again, hopfully a firmware update sometie will fix that. Also on a 2gb card. Not too fust about the speed though as its copeable.

Out of interest, what 2Gb cards are you all using? I bought a Kingston, but it completely died after a few days - I suspect it was faulty. I'm awaiting a replacement, but I could go for another make if there was one that everyone recommended.

Also got a Kingston one here. 2GB off the bay for £16 :D

Having problems with trying to connect it to the nokia software updater. Cant find the phone. Maybe its not supported?

Ben

did u format the memcard before use?
Thats usually advisable. Kingstom cards are fine, plenty of people use them :)
Mine was like £20 off the bay with lifetime warranty :D

Sometimes my phone loses connection when hooked up the the computer, usually have to just faff around with it then its picked up again

Mine does that all the time now.

Worked great for a week or so, then it connects and disconnects, but mostly I can't get a connection.

I thought it was the cable but maybe its the phone.

failing not been able to do a firmware update youself I would advise taking thephone in the a nokia service center and allow them to do it for you :)

Il try it once more with the firmware update. If it still plays up, il have to find my local service center.
