N95 Release

looks good so far. i miss the right shortcut to the contacts though, but no doubt you can customise that.

by the way if you haven't already, the orange logo on the battery cover will come of with some light scratching. you'd never know mine had one:)

Ive downloaded and installed the Nokia Software Updater, connected my phone etc etc.

The software does its thing and comes back saying "No software updates available for your phone".

My current firmware is 10.0.018, whats the latest?

My product code is: 0547686 (which I believe is the sim free and unbranded product code for the UK).

Yet the software wont update! :(

After doing some research the latest firmware is Version 11.0.026

I take it I can use Nemesis Service Suite to change my product code, download new firmware then change it back to original product code without any hassle?

I'm not sure about changing the product code back at the end of it, but the answer to the rest of it is yes :)

I still can't find a changelog anywhere.

Says there is no update = Ghay

By the way what folder do i put music into on the mem card :)

tnx

i would have thought that the providers would issues their own updates. you'd either have to flash with the generic nokia firmware (preferred) or wait for o2 to update theirs i guess:)

Yea but if it broke because maybe a little update didnt work = bye bye n95

;) :(

have you ever broke a nokia when updating the firmware ? i dont think ive seen anybody on here posting that. Its quite legitimate to update your firmware with the one your network provides, thats why nokia holds them on its website. Because everbody is going to have to do it, it has to be robust and reliable process

cant have umpteen customers calling kicking up a fuss because they were told by their network to update the phone and it broke it !

providing you dont go stupid and unplug it while its updating or whatever you'll be fine.

The thing is, if you break it so bad that it won't boot - how would they ever know you've changed the product code.

And if it boots but is still broke, you could change the product code back and they'd be none the wiser.

Decided to bite the bullet and get one of these as an upgrade, my contract is up for renewal on May 12th.

o2 say the phone is £199 on a £25/mo tarriff and £89.99 on a £35/mo tarriff, how much do you reckon it'll be on my £30/month Online 30 Texter plan? Of course these are new contract prices rather than upgrades...

Also - how early can you generally upgrade with o2? Do I have to wait until May 12th? :(
