N95 Release

At the moment im on o2 online 200 which is a £25 contract. I get 200 mins per month x-net and 500 texts.

I wouldnt mind paying upto £100 or very little over for the N95 either on an upgrade or new contract, i wouldnt mind also paying £30 per month for the contract. But i dont want to loose too many of my inclusive talk time or texts.

Do you think it would be possible to do this and get the handset for a good price?

Even on £35 per month contract - 18 month term, you still be paying over £100. On 12 months you looking at £200 for the handset.

I think I might have to opt for the £50 per month and £110 for the handset.

Just spoke to O2 upgrades, if i stay on my current contract they are willing to keep me on my £30 line rental and give me 400 x-net minutes (from 200) and 750 texts (from 500) they cant give a price for the handset (n95) but he says that i would be looking at around the region of about £80-£100

Well I have been looking at this smart phone as possible upgrade as my sony K750i is starting to look a bit long in the tooth and it has been over 2 years since my last upgrade so hopefully O2 will give me a good deal. Just wondered if this is worth the investment now or wait until the new Apple iphone is released.

Also what is the memory storage on this. I have heard that it may include a 2GB memory stick has this been confirmed yet?

I emailed Vodafone yesterday to see what they had to say about the phone as the N95 is the only phone on the horizon that I'm interested in. I received the following response:

I don't what the £364 relates to. Hopefully it isn't the cost of the handset based on my current tariff!
Whoever sent you that email really shouldn't of quoted that price, it is the cost price excluding VAT to the business. i.e. Vodafone pays nokia £364 + VAT for each handset.

And people wonder why they dont get the latest phones free on an upgrade. Because Vodafone is large company and will buy many of these handsets from nokia, people think they get them for peanuts. But £364 + VAT is the cost to the business that Vodafone pays.

When do you think the Customer Service monkeys at Carphonewarehouse will be told about pricing on these handsets? These phone started shipping to networks yesterday, so how can one of the largest (if not the) phone companies not have pricings sorted out yet? Really baffles me.

Why dont you look on carphone warehouse website, its shows you the prices for N95 on a new contract there.

hmm well thats new, as of today.:)

So I called up again. They wont allow me to upgrade the phone until its released ie you cant 'pre-order' an upgrade. But if you want to sign a new contract you can pre order.

Just been offered The N95 as an upgrade:

£35/month 600 mins 500 texts - £129 for the phone and £150 cash back. on an 18 month contract. Via carphonewarehouse on o2.

Is this a good deal - do you think I can do better?? I'd prefer a 12 month contract. Also what should I watch out for with the cashback?

Cheers:)

Shop around first, their should be something better, try here

Always take the persons name and extension number also so if you do want to accept they can sort it out, or get a reference number so a new agent knows what deal you we're offered.

Cheers - Tmobile web n Talk looks so tempting and o2s' antique!

just wondering which memory works with this? I know its microSD but will microsd (transflash) work or is there even a difference? I have seen a 2GB card for about £18 which seems to be a bargin.

There's no difference between transflash and microSD.:) yeh the cheapest i found was £18 inc del. Cant believe that 2gb is the largest you can get - thats pretty miniscule for the latest phone. (Apparently microSD will not go any higher in this format (ie non SDHC))

I heard it comes with a 2gb mini sd card, but that does sound too goood to be true.

Maybe..maybe not! The 2gb card is so cheap, I could see Nokia adding it in, however the packs open so far were all limited edition blogger N95s with all the extras. I suspect we wont know until they actually come out.
