National insurance cut

That isn't correct as it only applies to lower band
£754 is the maximum per 2% point cut

now if going from 12% to 10% = £754
how much is going from 10% to 8% going to yield...i'll give you a hint, it's the same as the above...£754
so £754 + £754 = how much?

another one that doesn't understand maths again @Mercenary Keyboard Warrior i leave him to you

There is no band with NI that's why tories like cutting it. Helps the middle.

Slight correction.
Its the "main" NI that's being cut. Which is the band upto about 50k ish (I think that's where it caps out)

Pensioners don’t benefit from NI cuts which is probably why it was attractive.

They definitely can't give anymore there.
Didnt really think of that.

Its the ideal tax for tories.

Its the only band of people who might swing to con from labour.
Ie, feeling a pinch, max benefit, doesn't help the super rich as much as the upper middle/middle.

Doesn't help "benefit scroungers"

You have made my day!!! I honestly though it was £754 in total from last time too

We've already had the first 2% cut so you can see why people might be getting mixed up.

I'm not seeing a 4% cut in my mind when I think of this, I'm seeing a 2% cut because we've already had the first 2% back in Jan so that benefit is already in my pay packet.

Shocking - luckily Labour will reverse it, oh wait..
I suspect the budget will take a lot of wiggle room away from Labour and is probably the intention. It was never going to be as simple as just bung tax on the higher earners to make up for it as they found out in the past when those policies lost them money.
