NEARLY 2 YEARS WAITING: New Mustang GT PP is finally mine!

I think he meant this one: http://www.billshepherdmustang.com/shelby-supersnake

Point still stands though, expensive for what it is.

Not a real Shelby, I've held my tongue and not called them out on Facebook but those are not real Shelby's, they are just taking GT's, slapping some random parts on them and then claiming they are a Shelby which they are not. Ford have not released such a car yet. So they are either just doing as they wish or they have permission to use the monika.

But yes total rip off, slap a Whipple on my car and it will do everything better and look better and total cost including car 50k and you'd be around 800BHP.

Seems the Mustang likes a couple of blowers strapped to it as well:

More impressively is the car is stock except for the twin turbo, upgraded OPG's and slick tyres with a driver who is not small. :D

Pushing around 900BHP, that terminal of 140+, the owner is just getting used to it hence why it was baby'd off the line, hence 1.9s 60ft when on drag stickies, should be under 1.6

Well it's not the Shelby built by Ford but there is an actual company called Shelby and they mod the standard GT and call them Shelby GT. Bill Shepherd have the licence to use that name or something along those lines. It's misleading but not Bill Shepherd's fault. They did have a Shelby GT350 after all.

Fair enough, I'd rather just buy a GT and do it myself as those Shelby's are not exactly using the best parts available, you can achieve better results doing it yourself and well save thousands.

i tend to think the Shelby GT350 or the R, will be the better car to go for.....if you were considering a Supersnake instead of a standard Mustang that is.

the Supersnake on further investigation, doesn't go around a track nearly as well as the GT350R, it's basically grunt in a strait line and therefore not as good on U.K roads.

Ah right, better cross that off the list too then, yes?

At the rate Ford FRPP are going, soon you can just buy a GT and convert it into a GT 350 or R, most the USA guys are now bolting the GT 350 suspension and engine parts to their cars. :D

Though it has being discovered FRPP dampers are actually better than base GT 350 dampers and there is a lot of better spring options available. Though the magnetic ride dampers/springs are yet to be made an option, doubtful those will happen but never say never.

In short Ford's aftermarket parts for this current GT is superb, they have so much available and of course some of the after market options are even better again, its just combining the right stuff and finding a right balance for what works together.

I am happy with mine, FRPP dampers with linear springs remedies all the issues the stock GT PP suspension had, whilst making it handle very well but also still being soft, so it works well on road and track. But I did buy the entire Ford Racing kit and only ditched the progressive springs for some linear ones.

Why don't Ford build a car using their performance parts to start with?

They do. Shelby GT-H has Ford Racing handling kit and stage 1 power pack with Ford racing exhaust I believe but that is it.

Then you have cobra jet for power.

Also bear in mind GT 350 is not perfect and owners are of those are now doing the rear bushes like I've done to mine and front lower braces etc, to tighten down the rear-end.

Ford have a huge after market on Mustang, probably more so than any other car they sell.

that's not much HP increase for the high price....i wouldn't have bothered, i'd have saved this money for the blower instead or a performance Crate engine.

Why? Peak numbers aren't the be all and end all. Holding the power for another 1000rpm is far more beneficial than just the peak power gain
