NEARLY 2 YEARS WAITING: New Mustang GT PP is finally mine!

Forgive my naivety, but what about all the money you've spent on your current one? Surely you're going to lose out there? Or are they mods that you can take off and put on the new one?

Car cost me 35k, I've spent:

- Suspension £1500
- Wheels/Tyres: £1000 (Shall sell for more than I paid)
- Power Pack / Tuning: £2000 (Will either sell with or remove and sell for 1k)
- Styling: £1000
- Interior: £300 (Will keep or sell for £500+)

If I was selling today I'd just bang it up at 40k and pretty much break even as people are selling stock used cars for 35k quite easily, being the first to order before all the prices increases essentially means I've had zero depreciation in first year ownership.

Also my modifications are now all worth double what I paid, due to collapse of the pound and USD prices going up. Remember I purchased all my suspension, styling and other stuff last Black Friday with a 1.55 dollar rate.

So I stand to lose very little to no money, but even if I did lose a few thousand thats just how things go, I never expected the car to hold value so well as not many brand new mass produced cars hold value so well in first 12 months and as prices are going up again and the new MY18 is set to cost even more even after two years I stand to lose nothing.

Happy days! :)

OK think its gonna be orange fury for me, looks lovely in this video:

Even front-end looks good in that video, I really hope Ford did there work properly this time and made the car compliant with all regions as those vents are rather nice.

Also is it me or does the car look like it sits lower and also the wheels look further spaced out compared to previous model? I notice tyres are still same size so did they make changes to the suspension hubs and geometry as well? Maybe part of the chassis updates they briefly mentioned?

Oh and that dash in action looks totally amazing, wow I love that, so epic, only if they had included a HUD too. :D

Cant say I'm a fan, it looks too pastel for my likes. I was hoping for a more McLaren volcano orange tone.

I have to say, when I first saw the leaked pictures a couple of days ago, I wasn't fond of the front end. Seeing it from other angles and in different colours has made it grow on me but I still wish it was closer to the GT350 look.

The rest of the upgrades are much welcomed and that digital instrument cluster looks awesome.

Yeah front end is weaker than current model.
But if it's GT350 front then just fitting that front end is possible or just change the bonnet to something with a bigger bulge. But will wait until seen in flesh as could be deceiving on photos.

Not too keen on the front end. Grill too big and headlights now a bit more muted which I don't like. Looks even more like a Manta Ray.

Gibbo will the running lights actually work on the EU/UK version on the facelift version?

Always thought that was an odd thing to disable.

Who knows.

But one would hope Ford learnt, the current model was their first global car and they ran into some issues due to regulations in different regions hence why EU cars had certain aspects disabled/changed and RHD cars even had further issues.

Now Ford know all the different regulations, were talking Ford USA (Detroit) here by the way, not your typical Ford and trust me they do not communicate very well between each other.

But now they know so one would hope and think it common sense all the changes they made were done so that this car meets approval in all regions so that they only have to make one car and the only difference will be steering wheel position.

Yeah, from the videos, they state that all the front body panels are different to the current GT. If that means they use the GT350 dimensions, hopefully they are interchangeable.

Well one of the Ford guys said its using GT 350 forward of windscreen and also has GT 350 magnetic dampers with beefier anti-roll bars along with some other under-pinnings on the handling front. The guy also said due to the lower front-end and improved aero and down force the rear spoiler is recommended for balance on track.

The rear spoiler is OK, though I prefer the one I have.

Right now I am thinking Ingot Silver or Orange Fury for the colour or maybe just get same colour again. But its a good year away so plenty of time to think it over and chance to see one in flesh hopefully when Ford bring a LHD over to demo. :)

I think I'd prefer the rear spoiler if it wasn't body coloured and didn't have the bits in the middle. The GT350R spoiler is so much nicer.

The rear does look better overall though with the diffuser and quad exhaust. Active exhausts should be good, especially if they take in the feedback that people don't like how 'quiet' the current stock exhaust is.
