NEARLY 2 YEARS WAITING: New Mustang GT PP is finally mine!

Annoyingly the filter didn't get installed, turns out they didn't ship the Venturi insert pre-installed into the intake tube, so when I started the car the rev's were erratic and they kept rising without the accelerator. So I told them to replace the stock filter, but the sound symposer wasn't re-attached, the pipe was just blocked up :(

Really not a idea to mess with the intake on this car, the stock intake is excellent for sound and performance, there is really no need to change it.

Plus fitting an intake on this car there are only a handful which are safe without a tune which are Air Raid, Roush and Steeda making sure you leave the insert in the maf area. Stock tube diameter is 85mm and you must strictly stay at this. A lot of CAI intake have larger MAF tube areas of 100-115mm at which point the car MUST have a remap designed for that specific intake to run correct and even then the gains are 5-12BHP on a dyno, on the road you can even lose power due to heatsoak as the stock setup is a true CAI whereas the Roush and Steeda are not, Air Raid is however.

Keep stock intake my advice and just throw a panel filter in there. :)

If you want more performance get a tune/remap as they are good on this car for 25-40BHP peak with around 40-60HP/Torque gains in mid-range, really very noticeable.

I'm in no rush to replace it now.

I've noticed that the after market parts don't seem to fit the UK cars very well, my hood struts needed to be modified and the garage said the filter and exhaust were a real pain to fit. They were no way as easy as any of the vids from American Muscle or CJ Pony Parts have made out, which is leading me to believe there are a lot of subtle differences between the UK and US Mustang.

On the bright side, the car seems to pick up much quicker with the new exhaust

Exhaust catback is identical on UK cars, mine fitted like a glove and I did it in my drive way on axle stands, piece of cake. :)

Hood struts don't fit so well as UK/EU cars have larger hinges for the pedestrian safety system which explodes if you hit a pedestrian to help protect their head should they throw themselves in front of your car.

I had to take an angle grinder to the hood strut brackets to make them fit.

My exhaust apparently didn't fit too smoothly and isn't 100% straight if you're looking from under the car, although it looks fine from the rear.

I am crap at taking photo's but I do love how menacing my car looks. :D

Any plans to change the colour of the Mustang badge Gibbo? Almost invisible on that picture

It was chrome, I changed to black which I prefer. But its not invisible in daylight just the dynamic range on an iphones camera is not so great at picking up everything.

I saw a convertible in the same colour grey the other day.

I think the coupe is much better looking, the back of the convertible/roof just didn't seem to look right on the road in my opinion.

Thats how I feel about most coupes that had the roof chopped off, the coupe always tend to look better. Only advantage of convertible is the exhaust note and engine can be heard even more. :)

i saw 4 mustangs today on the North Circular....all older models, i was on my way to view an Evo in Chelmsford ;)

it took 4 hours to get there, really bad traffic, every single mustang had stripes, i dont like the stripes, Gibbo's looks the best for sure.

Hi there

So today I decided to take the car to one of my usual photography shots to get some better photos of the car. So excuse the large amount of photos but here goes:

Really pleased with how the car is looking, but it is crying out for bigger wheels with a little less tyre to truly finish it off along with the Shelby GT 350 gloss black track spoiler, all of which are ordered and due around June which finishes the car off.

Then it just saving for the Whipple supercharger setup for around 750BHP! :D
