Need for Speed: Shift 2: Unleashed

I am just using the latest beta drivers and cap from amd. It's not like I am using them especially for this game, the crossfire has worked for ages now. I just checked and am getting 99% on one card and 95% on the other (they are slightly different specs).

Nope, I'm using the 12.11 BETAs and the 12.10 CAP1s but there is no activity on the second GPU.

Is there anything I need to set anywhere or should it just work?

I have to say I'm very happy with this game, It's awesome and while it may not be as in depth or as content filled as games like Gran Turismo and Forza, it's a good in the middle kind of game. My only issue is that the developers don't seem to have given the slightest **** to making cars true to their real life counterparts. I'm doing the C cup championship thing where you are forced in a Lotus Exige S (not the end of the world, far from it!) but this thing not only completely handles unrealisticly, but it's massively nerfed compared to the medicore M3 E46 and Silvia spec.R's you're forced to race against. The thing won't take a corner above 35mph and gets obliterated on the straights. That's what I expected though, to get dominated on the straights, an M3 or a Skyline R34 is going to cream me on the long straights, but the fact the Lotus is incapable of taking a corner any better than them is a load of toff, that's the only advantage an Exige would have in this race yet it isn't there due to no likeliness to the real thing.

So really, it just boils down to EA pumping their usual artificial, unfair difficulty into their games.

Other than that this game is superb!

Shame it's the only C class car I have right now :p I'll do some other events and but a new car for the C events...

Can't be bothered with modding the game now, I'm actually getting used to it...

Thanks anyway

Just picked this up as I was recently enjoying the first Shift.

Now is it just me or is Shift 2 quite bad in comparison to Shift 1?

Ive become used to playing Shift 1 and found moving over to Shift 2 a real struggle. The graphics are terrible, the handling dosent feel the same and the car models look really under-detailed.

Was Shift 2 a rushed title and suffered for it? Is strange as Shift 2 is made by the same team, using an 'updated' engine but dosent seem a patch on the original that was released in 2007!

Im sad as I was hoping it would be better :(

EDIT: I take it back, it seems the ingame graphics settings are pretty poor, you need to use Nvidia Inspector or CCC for Ati to change settings and force better graphics such AA and texture filtering. Now it looks so much better, a million times better even. Why does it always take the community to make games look better than the developers themselves ? *sigh*

I picked this up at the weekend as I wanted to re-learn Brands Hatch before an upcoming supercar experience I got given for my Birthday, and the desire to play something Forza/GT like on the PC. I've modded it up with the unofficial community patch and PTMu tyre mods from No Grip Racing and I have to say I'm really enjoying it so far! I play with a 360 pad with most aids off except for ABS and I like the weight the cars have with the mods in place.

The racing itself is a blast which is something that I think GT5 really misses, the sense of speed and omnipresent danger (it can get a bit too dangerous in places!) are really great and it looks absolutely beautiful maxed out in helmet cam mode. Nice selection of tracks and (Ferrari and a couple of others excepted) a great if not exhaustive selection of cars.

9/10 easily so far (with aforementioned mods).
