Need for Speed: Shift 2: Unleashed

mate said its a lot like GTR2 EVO... we'll see.. he enjoys it and has been playing fm3 for ages so i guess hes a good guy to compare them..

mine arrived this morning, had a quick blast, its ok, but the video sequences between everything get very annoying. worth the money? i would say no :(

mine to hopefully it arrives tommorow :D

hopefully when i get more time to play tonight then i will feel better about the game, i just cant see it being hugely better than shift. graphically it looks alright, nothing too special, but would say on par with if not better than GT5 was on the PS3 and shift1.
controls are pretty responsive and the game feels nice, but i just expected more. and that stupid guy that insists on explaining everything in between every race bugs me, the game is tooo similar to shift to need this sort of explaination. maybe im being picky, but this is what stopped me playing DiRt2, and will probably put me off shift 2 aswell :(

Is there a ghost car in the game to race against in time attack? The first shift didn't have ghosts, and having gotten used to beating ghosts in F1, I'd find it harder to beat laptimes without a ghost to chase and push me.

just been reading race departments forum and its mostly getting panned. Mainly becuase it STILL has the tank slapper feel like shift 1.

Maybe i wont open my pre order and send it back ;D

i felt the same. got mine and opened it expecting it to be better, but its just not. its good dont get me wrong, and if i wasnt working today i would probably still be glued to the screen, but it just doesnt have the wow factor at all. big dissapointment, but still, its worth a play.

hopefully its less repetivity and annoying objectives.

ummmm..................

it is along a very similar style as the first one. you start of in D series and work your way through races to earn points to unlock the next series. and, in all honesty, its a bit tedious. i play 8 or so races, all were ok, but i won enough money for an engine swap, which i did, but then my car was too good to enter the series i had available, so why let me buy it??
on the plus side, when you remove items, it credits you for them, so its not a waste, just annoying. although thinking about it, i think a message did pop up saying this upgrade will change the series of my car or something.

cars arent fixed to a class they go up a class if you put to many upgrades on so you have to be a bit strategic in one upgrades you want without going up a class, means you can keep the car for a few classes though which is cool , i think each level is 500 performance points.

btw i heard supra has awesome handling ;)

i have the audi S3 :( like i said, i whacked it on quickly this morning expecting it to wow me, and it just didnt.
im sure the more i play it the more i will like it, or the more that annoying guy will bug me and make me wanna turn the game off. i dont understand why devs think we want videos between everything that happens. i just want to be able to play, not have a 2 minute video from some american racer explaining things that are pretty obvious.

you only get the annoying guy for the drift poop its different people for each series and its just the one introduction video like **** had, most people seem to find the first couple of hours boring but then they find the good handling cars that are fun to drive.

i guess its slow to get started, be a blast once a bunch of us are on autolog anyway :)

hope my game comes tommorow

i had that guy pretty much after every race explaining how the points worked, or how you can upgrade something etc, not just at the beggining of each series.
maybe it can be turned off.

I just wish they would stop using americans. Give me some sexy italian driver whose accent makes my knees weak and whose eyes i can gaze into as he talks me through upgrading my fuel injection system. :p

(yes I am a man, and no I'm not gay)

Danica Patrick would fit the bill, even though she's not Italian, or a bloke :)

This game is absolutley pathetic.. I tried to fight it's cause for the first game saying it had a sim element to it with the correct settings but I didn't even complete the first race in the sequel.
