If turning traction and stability control ON makes drifting easier, that doesn't say much for the physics engine![]()
Thing is we don't know what those cars use in real life, do any of them use driving aids then?
I do know that drift cars do have a ridiculous amount of power though so its no surprise its hard to tame it.
Do the cars still handle like shopping trolleys (ie arcadey)?
Watching videos it seems to me the cars still do the stupid pivot in the middle thing, always launching the rear end sideways even if you're just trying a gentle 'lane change' on a straight.
I suspect people who didn't like Shift 1, won't like Shift 2 either.
This game is better than Shift. Although the pendulum effect is still there, which is annoying.
With the G27 you can feel the wheel trying to swing left to right, as if the back end of the car is wobbling, very weird. How on earth that's meant to be a simulated experiance I'll never know![]()
Im getting 25 fps on my 5870 and even worse when Xfired....really had enough with ATI now![]()
I do kind of agree but in the same breath I also think that when it comes to something like drifting, making the physics accurate would make it unplayable for 99.9% of us that couldn't drift a real car if we tried. I do think they have to make it so it looks like drifting and feels like it but isn't technically accurate in physics.
The fact this the drifting is very hard could mean they have done a good job with physics! I really don't know!
set your wheel up properly and download the alter tyre behaviour mod?
what settings are you running including CCC? im at max settings except blur which is off @ 1080p and the lowest i get is about 28fps for the first turn on night races with other cars, after that it's up to about 45 and daytime tracks run around 42-55fps.
