Need for Speed Shift - Time Trial Championship ** Season 3 ** (Multiplatform)

Went and got myself NFS:Shift yesterday and going to order a G27 on Tuesday so will hopefully be joining in soon guys :D although if you dont hear from me again its because im rubbish and too embarrassed to post again lol.

Haven't played a racing game since ridge racer but im getting bored with FPS and need to broaden my gaming and also think eyefinity would make a big difference to driving games.
Welcome Ultim8.
Don't concern yourself with being on the pace straight off the bat, it takes time & a lot of patience to achieve good times to compete in this thread. Ask Merlin5 what it was like when he first had a go & look at him now, pretty much on par with consistent top timers like myself, inam22 & danswan who've been playing this game since release.

All Newcomers - Use the rest of this season (two more weeks, we race 10 weekly events per season) as practice for the New Upcoming Season 4 thread.

We're all here for the fun factor with a challenge tagged on for healthy competition. This is a great driving game imo made extra special by this thread.

Since I enjoy racing games - have Dirt 2, Grid and will be picking up F1 2010 when it comes out, I may aswell pickup a wheel. Currently deciding...hmm

These shift threads certainly have got me interested in the game! Wish I had picked it up a while back. Hurry up amazon!!!

Edit: Think I will see how I get on the the 360 controller until I can decide on a wheel. The G27 on OcUK is mighty tempting though!

Hehe, Nikaz is right. When I started this game around the end of january I had no idea how to control these cars, it looked like drunk driving, I was all over the shop. :p Watching nikaz's videos (and inam's) showed me the importance of smoothness, straightening curves so to speak, the racing line (very important), feathering the throttle as needed, and maxing out each gear before changing up.

I'm currently uploading an opening lap of this car and track so you new players can get an idea of how I, and approximately how we're all, driving it.

Ok, here. Still processing to HD.

I really need to get myself back up to speed with this, didn't even post a time last week :( first i missed

I missed one earlier in this season, quite gutting isn't it? Pretty sure I wont be challenging for second this season, which is a shame but can't be helped :)

Well from me thinking this week would not see me playing at all until Friday it turns out I have had a session late last night and this evening as well - still pretty sure this will be my last time posted but you never know:

Wish the front end would stop bouncing around every time I ride a curb.

Great combo Inam & excellent time Dan, that's going to be tough to beat.

Well i have gone for 3 x 24" 1920*1080's in eyefinity (well waiting on the 5870 2gb toxic) but that way i get to see out of the side windows.

Why not get the G27 then add another 2 screens at a later date as you already have a 5970 :)

Hey Marine, I didn't know this track before saturday as I wasn't playing Shift when this was last played in an earlier season. But I think you'll find it's pretty easy to learn quite quickly. You can brake really late into the red as you come to the sharp right at sector 1 (at very approximately the 18 second mark into the lap).

Also i noticed the corner after bridge is slightly bumpy if you are to far from the apex :D

Do you mean just after sector 2 around the 46 second mark? Yeah, that often throws my car off. Also, the left side curb that the racing line covers at around the 38 second mark can make my car bounce around, which I think perhaps might be what Nikaz was referring to earlier.
