I'm not at home to check but, am I understanding this right.. I have to use the loan Dodge Viper with a stripey paint job, not a bought one? This is to take tuning out of the equation (great idea btw).

I take it it isn't possible to recreate this stripey paint job on the 'bought' dodge? I'm sure my questions will be answered as soon as I get home to try it myself...

One to get us started.

Is this car ok? Didn't quite get what you meant by the stripy paint job. There's about 20 skins for that car. This is the first one that appears when you select the car.

Yeah you got it pretty much. The optional stripe skins are available on the Loaner car by default. Like zytok says there's about 20 skins available for this car. You could recreate the Stripe using the Excellent paint tool available in Shift though. It's was my thinking of an easy visual indicator that the loaner was being used.

My fist go

Very slippery tail, getting almost sideways through some of the corners.

Miss not being able to tune the car. Lot of fun though:D

your not kidding -that is a horrible car to drive!!! So bad on the brakes!!!!! very tail happy. Doesn't want to turn in at all and the shicane around turns 5 and 6 or so is a nightmare - very tight.

Just to let you guys know a new EA patch is being released by the end of the month as well as the 9.12 drivers bringing plentiful improvements for ATI cards

You can find it on HardOCP :D

Fun isn't it.
To drive this car requires a lot of steering/throttle control.

Firstly turn on ABS brakes & Traction Control - Low

Approach corner
Always brake from high speeds in a straight line.
Let off the brake prior to turn in.
Brake early at first (beginning of red) gradually braking later & later until you reach the cars limit for that corners turn in.

Mid Corner
Try to HOLD a throttle position appropriate for the corner. DON'T shear the throttle on/off. You'll have very little to no control of the rear end.

Mid/Exit corner
If you need the rear end to step out a bit (oversteer) apply a LITTLE throttle. To counter too much oversteer DON'T get off the gas, counter steer whilst holding/feathering the throttle.

Exit corner
Apply the throttle gradually only applying full throttle when the car is stable & pointing in the right direction Taking into account your next braking point

IMPORTANT: STAY OFF THE CURBS. Give them a wide berth at first

That chicane can be treated in a similar fashion to the first section at the Tokyo Club (Week 6) if you adopted my RS4
settings. Use the loose rear end to power oversteer.

Trouble is you can buy the Normal Srt10 have the same colour as the "special" car and 780 bhp instead of 600 . And also be able to fully tune and adjust it which makes sorting the evil handling abit easier .

So eithier we use that car and be able to tune it or change the car before we get to far into the week .

+1
Completely agree with you, there is big loop hole with this car.I can buy this car choose the same livery, rims etc apply all the updates apart from body ones and no one actually tell the difference so as Persil suggested we better of changing the car now rather than late in the week.

Another suggestion to the Op. Is there any chance of having this thread in console section as well, we might get even more people competing in this championship.More people more competion keeps the interest alive.

Just had another go and was on a good lap then touched the wall and crippled my car and ruining my fun its a hard car to master.
As long as everyone is playing by the rules which i think most if not all of us will otherwise where the fun in that ?
