^ Need for Speed Shift ^

have just placed my preorder on blind faith and optimism. Oh and that IGN review :D

I love racing games, especially those with a career mode (though that appears to have some flaws) but this is gonna have to suck a golf ball through a straw to be awful. If it's even vaguely similar to Grid, I'll be a happy bunny.

Does anyone know if it has proper support (ie rumble) for the xbox 360 pad? Most of the earlier NFS titles (and Simbin ones) don't.

I'll make a judgement based on the demo personally, I don't trust EA enough to just part with the money.

Taken from the IGN review...

This exceptional cockpit view extends to the game's sense of speed. When you're doing 150mph, you know it. When you're doing 200+mph, you'll get scared. More than pretty much any other racing game I've ever played (and I've played a lot), NFS Shift makes you respect speed. When you get into the later races in the game and get behind the wheel of a Zonda R, Bugatti Veyron or Koenigseggisseggggnignigsegigisegggg CCX, you will actually consider taking your foot (or finger) off the gas in a slight bend because you can feel the car start to get loose. Slight undulations in the road that were previously unfelt will cause your car to lose traction for a split-second, which is enough to send it into the wall. It's a startling feeling, one that's rare in racing games and one of the biggest elements that separates real driving from its virtual counterpart. You still don't get the feeling of fearing for your life, but I'm pretty sure that's a good thing.

I like :)

So will it have propor support for the XBOX360 gamepad?

And the above post, that's great, I know when I'm playing other driving games, for example TDU, when you're doing 130mph it's like you are doing 70, so you end up doing about 180mph avg round the island and looks like 70mph.

well there seems to be plenty of videos of it so its getting a fair bit of coverage...they have also taken a slight different approach this time making the game a bit of a sim so the handling of the cars should be good.

im guessing this will be good and they have released the handbrake this time.

i can understand console users playing with a little controller but if your grabbing the game on PC the only way to play is with a G25 setup or similar !!! theres never been a better excuse to sell the wife and kids to buy a decent wheel
