^ Need for Speed Shift ^

oh come on Will, based on a series of screenshots and a couple of lo-res youtube vids, does everyone here prefer NFSS or GRid???

I'm not answering til I have played Shift...but the videos do make it look really sweet. GRID was indeed brilliant. So when I have played Shift I'll let you know :D

well i tried the 360 version and it was brilliant....im hoping the pc version will be just as good.

handling wise its not arcadey like grid but not as good a sim as forza.
hi-res graphics(with AA?) running at what looks like a constant 60fps with no dips.
great cars...great tracks with some great races(especially the head to heads).

does anybody know if the pc version supports network play ?

Eurogamer said the console versions run at 30fps IIRC.

Has anyones copy shipped from the shop with the No competitor hinting!
Mine has'nt so cant see it arriving on release day :(

Hope my little E2180 can run this ok, ggrrrr wish there was a demo.

Ah this is a great game, at last! The recent NFS have been awful, just awful. This is like a fresh new perspective on the series. Works really well with a wheel, I have the Saitek r440 and I am loving it.

Graphics are not quite upto Grid standards, but a great game none the less.

Graphics are just as good as Grid here

All this talk of steering wheels :p I have never used one, does it realy make much of a difference?
I would proberly spend hours tinkering with the settings, get frustrated and throw it back in the box never to be used again.

Maybe Im missing out on something special.

You might be a bit slower untill you get used to it but once you are they are way more fun to use than a controller.

I have not used my wheel in 4 years! (I was amazed at how much dust had gathered on it!) I have been using a game pad, then a xbox controller. I actually found it much easier to "drive" with the wheel than the xbox controller.
