^ Need for Speed Shift ^

ive only tried 360 pad with it, works fine with that, as for graphics its a mixed bag, spa can look gorgeous, i think the game needs a patch or ati need new drivers for it.

Having played it some more I have to agree with Phinor, the physics are just horrible. The cars slide for literally no reason atall, and there is just no 'feel' whatsoever, no feeling of inertia or weight. It just feels so utterly wrong.

There's nothing wrong with good arcade physics (Dirt 2, PGR, Sega Rally etc. are examples of this), however this doesn't have good arcade physics, it's just........crap. If it's trying to be a sim it's not remotely realistic, which would be fine if it had decent arcade physics. But it doesn't.

It's a shame, I love the cockpit effects when at high-speed and crashing, and it looks nice enough, but the abysmal physics really let it down.

I must be real **** at driving games, cause I'm skidding round every corner, seems the only way I can get around. I've got a Dodge Challenger Concept thats got like 600+ BHP and that thing even slightly on the accelerator is drifting round corners, the only way I can win a race with it is to go DD. Was using manual and not that brilliant at manual gears.

Can anyone determin from the video with me using an XBOX360 controller if it's possible it may not be configered corrently (deadzones n'all that) Just seems really awkward to me I even had some driving aids on still like traction control.

Well tried this morning to play with my steering wheel loads brands hatch for the driving aid test & closes down as soon as I cross the start/finish line at the very start!

Works fine when using the keyboard though.

First impressions because of that = rubbish, Steering wheel works fine in every other racing game I have.

that car looks a bit err, skiddy?

no game from jersey yet :( prolly won't be here till friday or even mon/tues, their postage has sucked for ages.

I've had a little bit of fun with it, but I'm left with the impression that it is stuck in between two worlds. I don't know what it's like on the easier settings, but I've been playing it on Pro mode, no assists and hard AI, and it is quite difficult. Thing is, it's difficult in a sort of unpredictable way. It's dressed up like a sim racer, but the physics and controls are just bat**** insane. The twitchyness of the cars at high speed are bizarre, and the general feel of the cars just feels off. So if it's going to be this difficult, why don't I just drive a real sim?

So it's no good to me as a sim racer, because it feels like a flawed sim. And as it is masquerading as a sim it's not much good as an arcade romp (unless it's a different game on easy).

Also, while the graphics are better than your average PC sim, I wasn't feeling this cockpit immersion everyone has been banging on about. I feel more like I'm in a car when I play GTR Evolution (good example), or pretty much every other sim I own.

Having a quick go on this now, most people are probably being put off by the first test lap. The car handles horrible on the track, no grip at all as said. I put in these options (for xbox controller):

Steering Dead Zone-15%
Accel Dead Zone-10%
Brake Dead Zone-10%
Steering sensitivity-5%
Acell Sensitivity -5%
Brake sensitivity-5%
Speed steering Sensitivity 100%

The car feels a lot better using these, just had a go on Spa and found it much easier to handle around the corners. Give it a try?

i found it too difficult to drive with in-car view but with the chase cam its just great fun to play(sorry i should really be commenting in console as i played the 360 version:p).

also i did have stability on low .
