^ Need for Speed Shift ^

I had similar stuttering with GTA:IV that I've never experienced with any other game. It only seemed to happen when my 260 went above a certain temp. I upped the fan speed and the stuttering stopped.

I also don't get any stuttering on Shift and I'm still using those increased fan speed settings.

Worth a shot.

Temps around 66-68 degrees when playing NFS Shift, so it is definitely not that.

But thanks for your reply, as you said it was worth a try.

my stuttering has gone now, wasnt the crossfire setup i had, tried 1 card , tried 2 cards , have now upgraded to i5 cpu and can run it silky smooth on 1 4850, seems my dual core cpu ( e5200 @ 3.g0hz ) was holding it back a lot

Running a Q9550, which NFS Shift uses around 50% of at most, so I don't think it's that either.

Looks like Xfire support is in, screenshots give the reassuring click but videos you just have to trust scroll lock v is doing it as you don't get the visual cue.

Did a quick video this morning of some of the circuit we are doing in time challenge, not very well I might add :) Although welcome tips on the corners I didn't slide off on :)

anyone else get grass textures on the track occasionally at the start of the race? Thought it might have been a driver bug but it's there on nvidia and Ati hardware so assuming game bug?

Anyone using this with a 5.1 setup? Can you hear cars coming up the side of you? I can't, and it's nothing to do with my settings because deadspace sounds awesome!

nice to see Ian Bell on virtualr talking quite openly about the title and where he sees they've done a good job and where he admits problems. Talk of patches and DLC.

Couldn't help but smile when he suggests that ATi users can rename the .exe to grid to help performance!!!!!:D

That is more likely to cause artifacts than stuttering, plus I don't have any issues with any other game.

Add to the fact that NFS Shift has a known stuttering issue on nVidia hardware, I doubt it's anything to do with my card.

Have the exact same issue here, game runs fine for a lap or two then the audio 'freezes' for about 1 second followed by complete jerk-o-vision which makes the game unplayable. I'm running a 260 GTX and like you have no problems in any other games. Its pointless playing the game until EA come up with a solution for this.
