Need For Speed......

I struggle to find a reason why I'd want to go back to a bland city at night setting and all that "Yo, dude! Dat waz an awesome drift!" bullcrap. Feels like a step backwards, especially after experiencing the beautiful maps in Hot Pursuit and Rivals.

NFS will never go back to its true roots because most people seem to find more appeal in modifying a Honda S2000 in an old garage than in blasting through exotic landscapes in a Pagani Huayra:p.

Besides, if the game's going to be full of EA's social malware then I'll definitely pass. I still remember Rivals and its ingenious concept of not having an active pause button.

Horses for courses.

But we got other games for that, Project CARS, Forza Horizon, I'm sure others will come along :)

Remember picking up the Demo CD for the original NFS, played the Coastal track for hours on end, fantastic game.

NFS2 SE was equally amazing would sit for hours 2 player LAN racing a mate with an F355.

Hot Pursuit and Porsche 2000, both cracking games, all went downhill after that, latest games are a joke, much like EA as a whole.

Yeah, but Project Cars is nothing like old NFS (besides, it's a pretty mediocre game IMO) and Forza is not on PC.

I'm talking about a proper racing game (not necessarily a sim) with tons of exotic tracks and equally exotic cars, preferably with a soundtrack made by Rom Di Prisco. I know it just won't happen so I'd better take my nostalgia goggles off;p

I'd really like to see a game that'd be similar to old NFS but there's nothing on the horizon at the moment and there probably won't be for quite some time since the big money lies elsewhere:(

It's the same with rally games, we didn't have anything decent until Dirt Rally came along and that was like a breath of fresh air after all that Ken Blockhead ********.

I really want a Gran Turismo/Forza type game on pc, free roam like Test Drive Unlimited but massive in scale. A pure online driving mmo, acting like one big massive auto culture world but feeling like a sim at the same time. Where you can buy hundreds of cars, tune endlessly, have your licenses for each class, have it function like a virtual driving world but where your character and lifestyle also levels in a type of MMORPG type setup. I want pure car porn, sadly no-one has the balls to take on such a project on the PC. I'll probably buy a PS4 just for the next GT in 2017 or whenever as that seems to be the closest thing to what I love in a car game.

I've seen one of the Shakotan exhaust style , but nothing "omgwow" huge. Still that video for an EARLY build looks astonishing. I thought that was just.. it. I cannot wait for this. So hype!

I am looking forward to this one, hoping it has more of a NFS:U flavour than the more recent offerings, it seems it's pretty much what the community want from a new NFS game and they may finally be listening!

I'm still looking forward to it, just hope it's as good as it looks.

Isn't that what The Crew was supposed to be?

I guess it looks okay-ish but I hope they'll make a proper NFS game sometime in the future. Underground should be made a separate franchise as it has literally nothing to do with what the series stood for in its glory days.

Depends I guess some people see underground as NFS, others see the games before that as NFS. If you want a proper racing game there's plenty of options as somebody else has mentioned. For the arcadey type it has been a long time coming for a game where you can fully customise like this.
