Well, I don't think there are any other options on PC. Project Cars is nothing like old NFS, Forza Horizon is an X-box exclusive and Burnout is a 100% arcade havoc-wreaking racer. There are no games like NFS on PC at all. The closest we got was Criterion's Hot Pursuit, which was practically a cleverly disguised Burnout, (still very good, though) and TDU2, which was a bit pants.

Epic landscapes, varied tracks, lots of exotic cars and a great electronic soundtrack - that would be the franchise returning to its roots and something I'd really like to see on PC.

While the new Underground will probably be good, I can image the game getting stale pretty quick as we're yet again being limited to driving only at night and only in the city (which looks pretty bland, to be honest). The customisation aspect and the driving model itself will have to be really good to make up for that. Well, I guess we'll see how it pans out in November;p
 
What about Assetta Corsa and pCars? Although they are more sim based so I'm not sure about the landscapes but there's definitely a wide range of cars and mods as well if you fancy.

I can see what you mean about it getting stale but I really hope that isn't the case. The customisation alone should keep you busy for a while plus with a range of races and if the driving physics are good it could be a blast. Personally I've found arcadey handling can be great fun and no I haven't even played any of the recent NFS games. But I did have grid 2 and it was very enjoyable :p Autosport the latest one apparently goes back to the games roots with more serious driving but I haven't had a chance to play it.

new PC trailer, it sure is a looker. Will it feel like NFS Underground 2, I doubt it but here's hoping. Oh the memories of NFS Underground with Lil Jon in that trailer.

I just laughed all the way through that trailer.

I mean look at it. Unlocked framerate? Wheel support? Manual transmission?

These are standard features to 95% of developers, I love how EA take them out because they donmt have a clue and then try to sell them back!

Honestly, get in the ****ing sea you shower of a company.
 
yeah typical EA BS made me chuckle as well...Really, if there's a need to market any pc game with those headlines, then your doing something very wrong.

But I'm still excited to play this, been so long since I've played a fun street racer.
 
End of the day it's Need for Speed... Not Project Cars or GRID lol.

It's a ricer / street racing game.

Pre-ordering soon.

At least they made an effort and haven't given us a complete console port.
I remember a NFS they released which was locked at 30fps and if you unlocked it then the game/cars go twice as quick :D :D
 
The trailer made me lol:p Well, the game was getting mediocre reviews (weak sense of speed and rubber banding in full force) on consoles anyways and I'm tired of this bro tuner ******** so I'll probably be skipping it. Plus, it's on Origin and always online with no pause button again which is probably the stupidest design choice I've ever heard of.

But if they'll ever decide to make a proper Need for Speed game again, I'll be all over it.

No thanks EA :rolleyes: This looks identical graphically to:

NFS The Rivals
NFS The Run
NFS Most Wanted (Criterion)

Which means same old forced EA social gaming junk I do not care for in anyway. Last 2 NFS games on PC you could not even disable Vibration on the gamepad (without mods) :rolleyes: and also had some strange design choices like unable to save unless you were in garages etc etc all console friendly choices obviously they should just abandon this series its been stale for years now :(
