Okay, you guys are much more serious about chairs than me. I was just after something sturdy and comfy...

we haven't put anybody on ignore with our fingers in our ears. That was you. Serious business. ;)

James, what sort of condition is your second hand chair? im genuinely interested.

Cosmetically spot on. Mine was reupholstered and looked like new. I did have an issue with the front seat lip not adjusting upwards correctly but i fixed that myself. Not that i ever adjust that :p

But James where are the side cushions to stop me from falling out when pulling several G's sat still and I notice notice not holes to fit a five point harness, you know, cause
Ha! Yeah, they aren't really for that crowd lol.

All ergonomic office chairs seem to have fixed armrests. I prefer ones that you can move to suite your arms. When playing long sessions with the keyboard and mouse i like to position my arm rests in place for those long sessions to support my arms. Noble chairs tick this box for me.
Some office chairs do look like they may be more comfy but the fact i cant recline in them the same way for console gaming sessions or position the arm rests put me off and ive found a couple that did do this but they are more expensive than the Noble. Herman miller and something else.

My Steelcase Please has arm rests that move in 3 axis and has 4 recline settings, this one look like no.3 with some german tart:

If you wanted more recline than on no.1 you'd need a sofa bed lol

Look at the adjustable lumbar support. What do you get on a 300 quid noble? a cushion.

Now now fairs fair, you get a cushion with a logo :D don't forget the logo

I have to say, that does look rather uncomfortable. I don't think I'd fit in it like that :) That is quite clever though, if the two pieces recline independently. I looked for a weight limit on your chair, but couldn't find one. Is it 'unlimited' so to speak?

This is what I was trying to check. It might be an amazing chair, but if it's just not strong enough for a heavy weight, it's no good to me. Only know of the larger versions weight limit.

That is by far the STRANGEST youtube video i have ever seen.

Yeah, I just couldn't watch it...

it's not exactly a guy operating out of a tin shed selling 2nd hand chairs. They are a proper operation and they have a website and the chairs are reconditioned, not just sold on. I totally get it though, That's what i meant when i said there's no counter argument [to a chair from the likes of 2ndHnd] unless you can't entertain the idea of a reconditioned chair. It's not without risk of course but to be fair to them, 2ndHnds customer service is pretty spot on!

Fine, but that's not what was said. It's insulting because he out right says we bought a £300 car seat on a stool 'marked up to £300' because it looks cool and has red stitching. In other words, 'you guys are idiots'.

And IMO hes 100% correct. Those racing chairs are shocking, and will kill your back if you sit in them for long periods of time. Glorified Argos crap. Wouldn't be seen dead in one.

Human Miller user myself :D

In the end I opted for a refurbished Steelcase Please v2 with headrest and I'm very happy with my decision. The level of adjustment, support and the fact the chair adapts to you and your movement makes it a very clever thing. It is great for gaming too because you can adjust it for gaming or comfort very easily. For example if you want you can slide the seat cushion back leaving room for a joystick between your legs (like a helicopter before anyone gets the wrong idea) or you can lower the arms out of the way for a HOTAS throttle or turn the arms in to support you for mouse heavy tasks.

So you've basically have 1k worth of very high quality chair with minor cosmetic marks if you shop around for a fraction of the price vs. a car seat on a stool marked up to £300 because it looks cool or has red stitching.

I am on the lookout for this chair - in black.
Where did you buy it from?

Well we need to respect the forum rules on competition I'd hate to see the thread locked rather a healthy debate on what is or is not in the best interests for gamers.

Just use a search engine to find second hand / used options for a specific chair you are interested in. The second hand market is not all about webshops sometimes you need to call or email people and keep in eye on auctions. I bought mine from a used office furniture specialist and waited a few months for the right chair to come available.

Rules only apply to items that OCUK stock generally iirc. Talking about Steelcase or HM shouldn't be a issue.

I'm also tempted to pick up a Steelcase but 2ndhnd seem to be short of stock currently.
