need new car fed up of this one

Clean EP3's are definatly holding value but then again low mileage FN2's are worth a bit too. I still think you should either go for an EP3 or an FN2. Utterly reliable cars. I've got a 470BHP Super charged FN2 myself and it's not once given me any trouble :)

I have also emailed you :)

Thinking the same, after owning one before I think I need to get some Vtec back in my life :D

Thanks for the Email I have replied.

Test drove a couple of cars this weekend, new/nearly new cars to see if i should spend a bit more and have something nice and new

First I thought i would try the new suzuki swift sport see how much better it was to mine.

although a nice car i think they have lost the spirit of the car it all felt very electronic and disconnected compared to the model I have. It was nice having the extra creature comforts with cruise/nav/sound dampening was a nice place to be but it seems to of lost a bit of its fun factor

Next I test drove the new fiesta ST, lovely car the seats are insanely comfortable, all the extras you want in a car! smart looks lovely sounds an extremely good car!

however i found it almost too good, to get the fun factor out of it you would be driving like an absolute lunatic. Yes it was better than my current car in everyway, Apart from one thing giving me a little smile going round some twisty corners with the back becoming loose the handling on the swift if just so much fun, The ST corrected everything far to quickly and I could feel the power being transferred around too much, almost driving the car for you. Maybe i need to try turning the traction control off but i don't know the car well enough to do so.
Might be going for an extended test drive on Wednesday round some roads I go to on a weekend for a hoon.

It has given me a lot to think about. Next is to get back in some type R's and see if they make me smile like a small child like they used too

I have to say, I've driven the Fiesta ST myself and really liked it. It is definatly one of the better warm/hot hatches out there at the moment and I'm not usually a Ford fan aswell. Ps. I also replied to your email :)

Have u not tried the Focus ST yet? Also I'm sure the Fiesta would be more than fun with the Mountune upgrade and traction control turned off :p

there is also the Integra Type R DC5

would like one, struggling to justify the price tag on them

Nope not drove one yet, been put off the idea as they are so common you see them everywhere (which i suppose is a good thing really)

hopefully get out in one this weekend, going to hold fire with car purchase until I get back from my wedding in just over 4 weeks. But test drive as many cars until then so I know what I want

After owning a DC5 once the JDM fanboi stuff wears off you'll struggle to see why it's worth so much over the civic or other cars in my opinion.

When i got rid of mine for an UK Impreza STi everyone kept saying ohh a downgrade etc but in reality the impreza was twice the car the DC5 ever was.

in what way is it twice the car  because i think the Integra is way better car to have........... i.e much cheaper to run and probably far more reliable, with a REALLY strong engine.

They do indeed score almost top in the JDM scene points game.

But in reality it's too stiff for the UK roads (mine had Ohlins coilovers which I swapped out for OEM suspension which was still too stiff to be any fun) also while it has the oh so lusted after LSD that just makes it a huge pain to drive on anything but perfect roads as it just wants to follow any camber in the road and pull you off to pretty much anywhere other than the direction you actually want to go, I even upgraded to a wavetrac diff and while better than the OEM still doesn't get around general FWD naffness of struggling to put any power down if its slightly wet.

Mine was quite unreliable as well, gearbox syncros really aren't great in those boxes, my rear callipers seized, problems with the diff which required it being replaced. The coilovers blew but that's not the cars fault as they were just far to hard for the UK. Granted the K20a is a lovely engine but the F4R in the Clio 197 my wife had for a bit wasn't exactly lightyears behind it in my opinion.

I guess all I'm trying to say is I got suckered in by the JDM fanfare that surrounds these cars and others like them when the reality is they're just a car that's overpriced and overhyped for what it actually delivers to most.

The Impreza I had on the other hand was extremely reliable despite owning for about 3x longer than the Teg and quite a lot cheaper to run for me, it was a bit more on fuel but the parts were sooooo much cheaper.

yea i know what you mean about stiff coilovers and our dreadful potholed roads............not easy to choose a car is it

well i've just viewed an Evo 5 RS and there's no competition, the Evo is miles better than the Integra, this one needs some work but it's quite cheap so i cant complain....... it's also faster than the 380hp yellow 5 GSR i viewed, maybe because it's much lighter and no AYC etc etc

does it hold the road :eek::eek: like ****** glue and that's with the standard suspension only ! it's done 55 000 miles

If that is the case no one would pick fault with a thread to show his new motor, we all love Evo's, we just really, really want him to buy/have bought one :D
