Neighbour

Get back in your box, anyone acting like that deserves to be called out on it - he was a ****. It's nothing to do with whatever fictional "brigade" you've dreamt up

What's done is done, jumping on the ol high and mighty on a internet forum and calling somone a **** make you feel better?

Because there are some people out there, who, no matter how courteous you are to them, or how many warnings you give, will ignore everything until the thing they are doing starts costing them money.

Question for the OP. Is there anywhere else for him to park that isn't ridiculously far away? If not, what do you expect him to do? He has three cars and needs to put them somewhere. I am sympathetic as these things can be very annoying, but maybe he just has no other solution than to park where he does.

Its been mentioned he could park in front of his other two cars. He obviously doesn't want the hassle of having to play musical cars when one of his wants to get out. He'd instead rather everyone else struggle.

Ah ok. I read the thread a couple of hours ago before deciding to reply just now.

It doesn't take long at all to do that, we have to do it with our drive as we currently have 4 cars but squeeze them all on the property to not inconvenience any other people in the Cul-de-sac.

But it's cool to be a vandal!

OP, don't let it escalate and develop into something acrimonious if you can. See if there's a friendly way of resolving it. This sort of thing can escalate until something happens that ends up being a bigger deal/fuss/effort than the initial problem.

A good amount of crinkleshoes' posts just scream made up to me.

As others have mentioned, try talking to him very reasonably and explain your position, ask him if there is anything he could do to minimise the inconvenience to both of you. Stress that it would stand to benefit both parties.

Exactly, I was hoping a morning of being late for work would be enough to at least knock a little bit of sense into him... but nope, this guy was quite determined.

Even after his vehicle got keyed on both sides, the only vehicle in a string of ~20 parked cars to get such damage, he still didn't get the message.

He was a strange combination of obtuse and agressive.

Put in the same situation, I don't think I'd handle it much differently... even after much more experience in handling people like that.

Superglue dissolves in acetone.

Yup, Wont take too much to remove it.
Some Paper soaked in acetone left on it for a little while will make it soft enough to pick off.

No need for a new windscreen.

makes me think he made that up tbh

He didn't figure that one out.

He usually left for work a good ~30 minutes before me, so I generally got to see the fun that ensued on the following mornings.

the only way he could sort it would be to park behind his 2 cars, but then it will only inconvenience himself.

i did try to talk to him the other day and expressed that a few of us are having issues parking with his car there, he obviously does not give a ****.

parking my car there looks like the next thing to do, trouble is i know the wife will decline as she dont/wont want any hassle.

Guy kept parking in front of a dropped kerb access to/from the courtyard of my apartment building.

Despite numerous warnings, he kept doing it.

It was almost impossible to get my bike into the courtyard.

After a long time and many many warnings, he still kept doing it and he was the only person who would park there.

I had a little tool that would remove the valve stem from the inside of the pressure valve (the one you use for inflation of a tyre)... so I would remove two of them in the middle of the night when no-one was looking.

He would come down to two deflated tyres, without the stems to hold any pressure in so he couldn't just pump them up and he only had one spare.

Despite doing this on about 5 occasions... he STILL kept parking in the same spot.

Ended up using superglue to stick a bunch of paper on his windscreen... the paper sheets were just normal A4... but the superglue on the windscreen spelled out a certain 4 letter C word that is banned on these forums... so that when he tried to pull the paper off, it would leave a massive swear word in very easy to see letters across his whole windscreen.

Then and only then, did he finally get the message and stop parking there.

Superglue does not come off a windscreen... he had to get the screen replaced... it was quite entertaining for a few days, even after he managed to get most of the paper off, he still had these big letters that looked like a distortion in the glass.

Almost amusingly... only about 2-3 weeks later, the local council changed the parking regulations for that street and no-one was able to park there at any hour of the day due to updated bus routes.

Wow!! Good job he got the message with you vandalising his windscreen, hate to think what you would have done next.

Guy isn't parked illegally.
Guy isn't blocking anyone in or obstructing any access to anything.
OP can get into and out of his spaces fine.
Nobody's car has been hit.

Am I alone in wondering what the problem is?

ok spoke to the sales on site, its in the deeds that no one should park there car in that area.
also she said that the neighbour in question only have 1 parking space not 2.
so they have been using one of there neighbours spots.
there are 6 houses on this side 5 have 2 spaces, 1 house has 1 space they have 1.

this could get very interesting lol
