Neighbour

This is why I won't buy a house without a decent driveway. It all gets so petty.

There are just bigger things to worry about in life than parking spaces but people get so caught up in it. Used to get threatened by people when I parked on the road outside their houses near a hospital I worked at - telling me it was their space on a public road and they'd damage my car, loons!

That's a good attitude to have Rybo. Not.

Was clearly a reply to the council estate comment. I know what he was getting at giving his past replies with me.

To answer the question though, no can't say I do have any problems with parking given I have a 4 car drive up the front and side of my ex council house.

my wife has to do a 3 point turn to get in her space next to mine.

That is absolutely unacceptable, I feel your pain. I wouldn't want my wife risking a 3 point turn anywhere near my car either.

Perhaps try having a man to man talk, in private? Explain that your wife has to do a 3 point turn, he will understand completely. Good luck mate all the best.

What kind of moron buys a new house with one space when they own 3 cars??

What kind of Moron builds a housing development with inadequate provision for parking vehicles?

(Oh yes, ones that are forced to do so by government planning guide lines)

And the nonsense of having one house with only one space along with everybody else having two is nuts!

The 3rd house on the way into my estate is a 4 bed detached. The family who live there are mum, dad, two daughters and a son. All 3 kids have their 'other halves' living in the house. There's 3 cars on the drive, 5 cars parked on the street in a line, the dads transit van and one of the 'other halves' works van!.............

Is this really the government at fault through planning guidelines?? Or is it the developers at fault, for shoe Horning as many houses into one space as possible to maximise profit?

/gloats with 5 car driveway

Guidelines lobbied for by the building companies so they can build more houses in the same space to make more money.

Blimey - they must be like sardines in there!

A big part of this is the moronic design of new estates. They pack everything in as tight as possible, so theres no space.

The houses where I live were mostly built in the late 70s and theres loads of space. Everyone gets a driveway for at least 1 car (2 if you really squeeze it in), a descent sized garden, plus visitors spaces and roads easily wide enough to park on. Plus large park areas full of greenery.

A housing estate down the road only finished last year provides very narrow driveways for 1 car, almost no garden (none at the front), no public green spaces what-so-ever, no visitors spaces and roads so narrow that you can barely get through when people park on them. Yet they ask even more money for them :/

he been away for a week and bang plonked it in the way again. its just dam right inconsiderate, he could park it behind his 2 parking spaces but then that would just inconvenience himself.

one day we will end up knocking the next door neighbours car then it will be us who have to cough up for repairs.

in a nut shell 3 cars 2 spaces *******

Trolley jack under the rear axle and push the back end over. Then call the police and watch it get towed.

Guy kept parking in front of a dropped kerb access to/from the courtyard of my apartment building.

Ended up using superglue to stick a bunch of paper on his windscreen... the paper sheets were just normal A4... but the superglue on the windscreen spelled out a certain 4 letter C word that is banned on these forums... so that when he tried to pull the paper off, it would leave a massive swear word in very easy to see letters across his whole windscreen.

Then and only then, did he finally get the message and stop parking there.

Superglue does not come off a windscreen... he had to get the screen replaced... it was quite entertaining for a few days, even after he managed to get most of the paper off, he still had these big letters that looked like a distortion in the glass.

Almost amusingly... only about 2-3 weeks later, the local council changed the parking regulations for that street and no-one was able to park there at any hour of the day due to updated bus routes.

it might be wrong for him to park the way he did. if any one parks along a drop kerb blocking your access to your drive you are in your rights to request to the person to remove it. if they take no notice you are in your rights to request from the local council to get this car removed this then will be transported to an compound and the owner will have to fork out fees.if its out of council times the local police would arrange the same.

but now the silly thing is by super glueing paper to his windscreen your are committing an criminal offence. if this guy had any sense
he be taking you to court and claim full expenses from you who would have the last laugh then :D:D:D
