Netflix Sci-Fi Anthology - Love, Death & Robots

Making my way through season 2 right now. Incredible so far, easily as good as season 1, I just got to the Christmas short, I don't think I laughed that much in years, I had to stop!

They all seemed to end to abruptly or without finishing the story. Didn't like the way it did that. I've managed half the season and will find time someday to finish it but I'd rather start Castlevania

I wasn't so impressed with this season. I liked the Father Christmas one a lot, and the horror one with the train was another stand out. Scalzi's one (the first) had a nice joke but needed to be shorter and many of the rest just didn't seem to have much punch, Ice and The Drowned Giant almost delivered but fell a hair short. Loved the variety of art styles, and CGI is amazingly good these days, but while I still like the format it didn't feel anywhere near as strong as the first season. I'm not sure whether that's just a Covid effect or what.

Same here.. Watched them all last night and there were some good ones particularly Pop Squad, Snow in the Desert, The Tall Grass and Life Hutch and i would love to see full series of all of those (Although The Tall Grass was a nice little mysterious snippet and fine with that) but the others were pretty meh and forgettable.

Oh yeah i forgot the Santa one.. That was great and made me laugh :D

I'm surprised to see so many people rating Life Hutch - I thought it was probably the weakest of the lot, although it did look lovely - but I guess that's the strength of anthologies like this: different things for different people.

I thought the CG was fantastic on that and i would have loved to see more of a series based on that, the space battles etc but i guess it would cost an absolute fortune and the hardware and time it would take to render just one 40 min episode of that would be huge cost. I thought it had a bit of suspense and for a 15 min chunk it was decent.

I do however want to see Snow blow more CG alien heads off though. :D
