Netgear D7000 VDSL modem/router

Flash and go. I think I read on the Netgear site says that this is Ok. When I flashed back to the "V20 test" again without a reset, everything worked perfectly (except for the ongoing bugs and other issues!).

David

I was always told to do a full reset once the new firmware was installed to flush out any remaining bugs or issues from the previous firmware that it may have stored. I'm away to test the firmware now.
I'm expecting a speed drop though as my SNR is sitting at 5db with a sync of 72Mb. I'm expecting the SNR to go back to 6db.

As expected, I've had a speed drop and my SNR is now sitting at 6.5db.
No idea why the drop in speed as it was apparent it would happen prior to the firmware upgrade.
I'll test my HG612 tomorrow and see what that gives me.

I've started getting wireless drop outs now with the new firmware. Not had a chance to check the modem sync speeds against the HG612 yet though. I may go back to the previous test firmware as I had 50 days uptime without a blip.

A sync comparison between the HG612 and the D7000, Not much in it at all really. I'm only noticing the dropouts on my PS3, It could be the 20/40Mhz coexistence as it wasn't happy with that on my Billion 7800.

Looks like my issue is with PSN and nothing to do with the Netgear. I have recently started getting an ip fragmentation notification on the ps3 now since the update.

Nope, no issues here with previous firmwares either. This one seems stable too, Same sync speed as my HG612. Unsure on errors etc as I never left the HG612 on long enough to get a new figure.
Wireless strength remains good also. I'm not sure if the device is causing issues with some ECI cab users though.

They did say issues so more then one problem.

You just have to wait for new firmware, better safe then sorry as they say.

Yeah, I was just updating on my comment asking what the issues were.

Seems to be fairly stable here anyway although I'm using it for basic functions.

I would like to say that it would be the new one as the previous was removed from their website. It is hard to tell though. You would think it would have been named 1.0.2 now though.

Has anyone still got a copy of V1.0.0.26 on their computer prior to it being pulled? If you do, Do you fancy copying the release notes onto here so we can compare them to the new V1.0.0.26.

For anyone still wondering about the firmware removal and re-upload the reason posted on the Netgear forum was the engineers couldn't reproduce the issue that was reported for the reason it was taken down. According to the engineer the issue is related to iOS9.1 and user’s Apple TV since it does not seem to support 5G connection at lower channels so the same firmware has been re-released.

I think so. I always revert to V1.0.0.20_TEST_1014_1.0.1 as it's the only one that gives me the sync speed (such as it is )

The version he has uploaded is V1.0.0.20_TEST_0817.

I believe the test firmware I had from netgear was a v1.0.0.18 derivative. If you want to upload a copy somewhere, I'll download and test. See what difference in sync I get.
