Never been in my attic before

In my old house (a victorian terrace) i discovered an old trunk in the attic. It took me a couple of months to summon the courage to open it expecting the worst. Turned out it just contained a few pesetas :)

This is why I like old houses, so much history and so much potential to find cool **** :D

Man up

If I can fall through the ceiling with my dad at age 6 and survive, I am sure you can make it up the hatch!

True story :D

My mum had (probably still has) a bin bag of old dolls in our attic. I dont think she or my dad have been in there for years - me either

O dear... Man up!!! :p

I climbed up into the loft a couple of weeks ago to clear everything out as I'm moving house in a few days. Ladder was about 2ft away from the hatch so I had to actually climb up it, I was all dressed in black with my marigolds and felt like cat woman up there :D

Found a doll which had one eye closed... Then held it upright and then both eyes opened. Looked kinda scary

Don't do it! I stuck my head up in mine and there was a big net spiderweb over the top,
face -> web, i screamed like a girl and haven't been up since (that was 15years ago)

OK...I'll share to give you all a laugh.

The main entrance to my main loft is in an alcove off my main bedroom. Some years back, I was watching the X-Files. I hadn't watched it when it was on TV, on episode per week. Someone lent me entire seasons of it afterwards and I watched multiple episodes in order, one after the other.

I'd got to a bunch of episodes featuring bees carrying diseases and used as weapons. Quite disturbing. At that point, a bee flew out of the alcove where the entrance to my loft is and flew out of the window. Bees! bees in the loft! So I glued a net curtain over the loft hatch to protect me from the X-files bees in my loft :)

EDIT: There weren't any bees in my loft. The bee that flew out of the alcove had presumably flown in through the open window and into the alcove before flying back out again.

I'm usually a bit wary these days since opening the hatch to a swarm of angry wasps. They had created a pretty large nest in the loft and it (the swarm) scared the bajaysus out of me :(
